Background: Patients with mental health conditions represent a significant concern in emergency departments, consistently ranking as the third or fourth most prevalent diagnoses during consultations. Globally, over the past two decades, there was a marked increase in such incidences, largely driven by a rise in nonurgent visits related to somatic complaints. However, the implications of these nonurgent visits for mental health patients remain unclear, and warrant further investigation.

This project aimed to evaluate the potential benefits of PBMT in improving cognitive status and mood disorders in patients with dementia.

Background: Muscle quality index (MQI), a new metric for assessing sarcopenia, reflects the functional capacity of muscle. However, the associations between MQI and adverse health outcomes and the corresponding mechanisms are not well understood.
Objective: We aimed to prospectively evaluate the associations of MQI with risk of nine adverse health outcomes (ie, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease (CVD), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), respiratory disease, chronic kidney disease (CKD), liver disease, dementia, depression, and all-cause mortality), as well as the mediating role of metabolomics in these associations.

Background: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a leading cause of global disability, contributing to substantial individual, social, and economic burdens. While antidepressant therapy remains the cornerstone of treatment, complementary lifestyle-based interventions, such as multimodal exercise and mindfulness, have shown promise in alleviating mood symptoms. However, their specific impact on sleep quality, a critical therapeutic target in MDD, remains underexplored.
