One-step and two-step qPCR assays for CAPRV2023: development and application in full-cycle epidemiological surveillance of golden pompano.

Front Vet Sci

July 2025

Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Aquatic Animal Disease Control and Healthy Culture, Zhanjiang, China.

strain 2023 (CAPRV2023) has recently emerged as a significant pathogen responsible for substantial mortality in farmed golden pompano () across China, threatening the sustainability of the aquaculture industry. To address the urgent need for rapid and accurate diagnostics, we developed two TaqMan probe-based quantitative PCR (qPCR) assays targeting the viral G protein gene: a two-step qPCR assay and a one-step qPCR assay. The newly developed two-step qPCR assay demonstrated excellent performance, with a detection limit of 2 copies/μL and an amplification efficiency of 104.

A thermostable extracellular alkaline protease was isolated and purified 7.1-fold from Galium aparine using a sequential four-step procedure comprising ammonium sulfate precipitation, ion-exchange chromatography, ultrafiltration, and gel filtration. The purified enzyme, with a monomeric molecular mass of approximately ∼30 kDa as determined by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), exhibited optimal catalytic activity at pH 8.

High-performance catalytic ultrafiltration membrane for peroxymonosulfate activation: The utility of high-valence metal species and enhanced mass transfer.

Water Res

September 2025

State Key Laboratory of Advanced Environmental Technology, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, 230026, China. Electronic address:

Persulfate-based water treatment technology is a highly promising approach for pollutant degradation; however, its efficiency is often constrained by limited mass transfer. In this study, we fabricated an optimized spinel-incorporated catalytic poly(vinylidene fluoride) membrane (spinel-PVDF), which enhances the pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics constant (k) to 1256.47 min.

Background: Peptide-Ca chelates are promising calcium supplements. Lentinula edodes (LE) is rich in amino acids with calcium-binding ability, and so it is hypothesized that it can be used to develop peptide-Ca chelates. Additionally, aiming to save time, molecular docking, using Ca or calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) (a regulator of calcium homeostasis) as target, has been applied in the screening of calcium-binding peptides (CBP).

Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy in Children.

Indian Pediatr

April 2025

Division of Pediatric Nephrology, Department of Pediatrics, University of California, Davis, 2516 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA, 95817, USA.

Continuous renal replacement (CRRT) therapies are a valuable addition to the dialytic armamentarium, and that, through gentler fluid removal and solute clearance, are better tolerated in critically ill children who are in need of dialysis. CRRT is technically demanding and resource intensive, and its use can be associated with many complications. There are many different modalities of CRRT, each of which employ varying combinations of convective and diffuse solute removal and ultrafiltration.
