Design, Setting, And Participants: OASIS-3 was a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized phase 3 clinical trial that was conducted at 83 sites in North America and Europe from August 27, 2021, to February 12, 2024, and included postmenopausal women aged 40 to 65 years who were seeking treatment for moderate to severe VMS (no requirement for a minimum number of VMS events per week).

Importance: Previous studies have suggested that social participation helps prevent depression among older adults. However, evidence is lacking about whether the preventive benefits vary among individuals and who would benefit most.

Objective: To examine the sociodemographic, behavioral, and health-related heterogeneity in the association between social participation and depressive symptoms among older adults and to identify the individual characteristics among older adults expected to benefit the most from social participation.

Importance: Approximately 35% of individuals seeking abortion care use Medicaid for health insurance. Although the Hyde Amendment restricts use of federal funds for most abortions, states can supplement coverage using state funds.
