In a prospective, remote natural history study of 277 individuals with (60) and genetically at risk for (217) Parkinson's disease (PD), we examined interest in the return of individual research results (IRRs) and compared characteristics of those who opted for versus against the return of IRRs. Most ( = 180, 65%) requested sharing of IRRs with either a primary care provider, neurologist, or themselves. Among individuals without PD, those who requested sharing of IRRs with a clinician reported more motor symptoms than those who did not request any sharing (mean (SD) 2.2 (4.0) versus 0.7 (1.5)). Participant interest in the return of IRRs is strong.

Background: Formal mentoring within the nursing profession has been recognized as an effective approach in teaching critical thinking, leadership skills, communication, and professional socialization. Unfortunately, few baccalaureate nursing programs teach skills specific to mentoring, both as mentees and mentors within a formalized program.
Methods: A peer mentoring program with senior students mentoring sophomore students was developed based on Benner's (1984) novice-to-expert theory during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study investigates the long-term effects of the 2015 Fundão tailings dam collapse in Brazil, focusing on metal accumulation in soil, plants and its implications for ecosystem recovery. The research, conducted between 2021 and 2024, analyzed 3311 individuals from areas directly and indirectly affected by the dam collapse, as well as from non-affected areas, integrating geochemical, spatial, and temporal analyses. Metal concentration and cellular damage were evaluated in roots and leaves.

Background And Objective: Preterm infants are characterized by immature cardiorespiratory systems and require continuous monitoring of physiological signals in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) to assess their clinical condition and return alarms in critical situations. However, many alarms are false or clinically irrelevant, leading to alarm fatigue for nurses and clinicians. A particularly high false alarm rate is reported for central apneas (CAs), with precision as low as 0.

Objective: Recent evidence supports greater risk of reinjury with earlier return-to-sport. As early return-to-sport testing may promote clearance during times of elevated reinjury risk, the purpose of this study was to identify when return-to-sport testing is administered following ACL reconstruction.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted of studies where functional tests were administered post-ACL reconstruction to inform return-to-sport decisions.

Dried blood spots (DBS) offer a practical and relatively non-invasive method for sample collection. Here, we evaluate the feasibility of applying H NMR spectroscopy to metabolomic analysis of DBS. Various solvent suppression techniques and extraction protocols were tested using aqueous and methanolic solvents.
