Background: Dyspnea is a common clinical symptom and cause of outpatient and inpatient presentations to the clinic. Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges appear, when additional diseases appear that are themselves associated with subjectively perceptible dyspnea. We report on a young woman with orthopnea as a trigger of a diagnostic cascade of various diseases.

Infections are increasingly recognised as a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, autoinflammatory, somatic (VEXAS) syndrome. We conducted a systematic review to characterise the infectious burden of VEXAS syndrome and propose preventive strategies. We included 57 studies (813 patients) showing that infections in patients with VEXAS syndrome were frequent, severe in 40-60% of cases, and fatal in 6-15% of cases.

This single-center retrospective study evaluated the incidence, etiology, and risk factors for infections in 158 RRMM patients treated with BsAbs. A total of 101 patients received BCMAxCD3 BsAbs (teclistamab and elranatamab), and 57 GPRC5DxCD3 BsAb (talquetamab).

This study aimed to develop population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) models for intravenous sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and trimethoprim (TMP) to optimize dosing regimens for the treatment of pneumonia using these models. A prospective study was conducted in 79 patients treated with intravenous trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. PopPK models were developed using nonlinear mixed-effect modeling to evaluate the effects of liver function, kidney function, and genetic polymorphisms ( and ) on pharmacokinetic parameters.
