Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), the first human oncovirus discovered in 1964, has become a focal point in virology, immunology, and oncology because of its unique biological characteristics and significant role in human diseases. As we commemorate the 60th anniversary of EBV's discovery, it is an opportune moment to reflect on the major advancements in our understanding of this complex virus. In this review, we highlight key milestones in EBV research, including its virion structure and life cycle, interactions with the host immune system, association with EBV-associated diseases, and targeted intervention strategies.

The precision measurement of the tritium β-decay spectrum performed by the KATRIN experiment provides a unique way to search for general neutrino interactions (GNIs). All theoretically allowed GNI terms at dimension 6 involving neutrinos are incorporated into a low-energy effective field theory, and can be identified by specific signatures in the measured tritium β spectrum. In this Letter an effective description of the impact of GNIs on the β spectrum is formulated and the first constraints on the effective GNI parameters are derived based on the 4×10^{6} electrons collected in the second measurement campaign of KATRIN in 2019.

Oxidative stress is a major microbicidal mechanism of phagocytes causing molecular damages, including DNA-protein crosslinks (DPCs), toxic DNA lesions that can lead to genomic instability. DPC repair depends on Wss1 and Ddi1 proteases, so they may be critical for fungal survival in hosts, yet their roles have not been fully elucidated. In this study, the roles of Wss1 and Ddi1 under oxidative stress were examined in the model yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida albicans, an important human fungal pathogen.

This article, on the 60th anniversary of the journal Investigative Radiology, a journal dedicated to cutting-edge imaging technology, discusses key historical milestones in CT and MRI technology, as well as the ongoing advancement of contrast agent development for cardiovascular imaging over the past decades. It specifically highlights recent developments and the current state-of-the-art technology, including photon-counting detector CT and artificial intelligence, which will further push the boundaries of cardiovascular imaging. What were once ideas and visions have become today's clinical reality for the benefit of patients, and imaging technology will continue to evolve and transform modern medicine.
