Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease associated with imbalanced subchondral bone remodeling, and there is currently no curative treatment available. In OA, excessive osteoclast activity leads to bone loss and inflammatory responses. Dimethyl fumarate (DMF), an Nrf2 activator already used in treating psoriasis and multiple sclerosis, may alleviate OA by suppressing oxidative stress and osteoclastogenesis.

Background: Oral fluoropyrimidine, S-1 is the standard adjuvant chemotherapy for patients with resected pancreatic cancer (PC) in Japan. Patients experiencing early recurrence are typically treated with 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin (FOLFIRINOX) or gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel (GnP), which are commonly used in patients with advanced PC. However, no clinical studies have compared these regimens in this particular population.

Background: The imbalanced basal metabolic rate and energy expenditure proportion is an essential etiology of obesity. Thyroid hormones are vital in managing energy expenditure and body mass index (BMI). Hypothyroidism is associated with a decreased metabolic rate and increased prevalence of obesity.

Objectives: to synthesize literature on imbalanced energy field to conceptually and operationally define the defining characteristics and related factors of diagnosis "Imbalanced Energy Field" (00273) (NANDA-I).

Methods: a study developed in two phases: integrative literature review (Whittemore & Knafl) and improvement of definitions of diagnostic elements. The CINAHL, Scopus, LILACS, BDENF, FIOCRUZ, Web of Science, INTEGRALIDADE and PubMed databases were used from 2016 to 2022.

Cellular senescence is accompanied by extensive genomic reorganization, such as senescence-associated heterochromatin foci and expanded interchromatin compartments, to ultimately affect gene expression. Here, we demonstrate that chromatin structural changes in senescent cells drive significant alterations in the phase behavior and motility of paraspeckles, a type of interchromatin compartment condensate. We observe increased numbers, size, and elongation of paraspeckles harboring NONO and NEAT1_2, driven by elevated levels of those components, consistent with the micellization model of longitudinal growth rather than condensate coalescence.
