Distinguishing different time series, which is determinant or stochastic, is an important task in signal processing. In this work, a correlation measure constructs Correlation Fuzzy Entropy (CFE) to discriminate Chaos and stochastic series. It can be employed to distinguish chaotic signals from ARIMA series with different noises. With specific embedding dimensions, we implemented the CFE features by analyzing two available online signature databases MCYT-100 and SVC2004. The accurate rates of the CFE-based models exceed 99.3%.

Background: The rising prevalence of depressive symptoms among college students has raised significant concerns regarding their mental and physical wellbeing. Grounded in psychodynamic theory, this study examines how depressive symptoms, psychological resilience, and egoism collectively influence psychological wellbeing. While existing literature acknowledges these factors independently, their integrated effects remain underexplored.

This study aims to highlight the effectiveness of computer vision (CV) techniques in classifying brain tumors using a comprehensive dataset consisting of computed tomography (CT) scans. The proposed framework comprises six types of brain tumors, including benign tumors (Meningioma, Schwannoma, and Neurofibromatosis) and malignant tumors (Glioma, Chondrosarcoma, and Chordoma). The acquired images underwent pre-processing steps to enhance the dataset's quality, including noise reduction through median and Gaussian filters and region of interest (ROIs) extraction using an automated binary threshold-based fuzzy c-means segmentation (ABTFCS) approach.

To improve the efficiency and reduce the cost of traditional sympodial bamboo harvesting, this study evaluated the effects of four harvesting intensities-selective harvesting, one-third clump, one-half clump, and complete clump harvesting-on understory plant diversity in pure stands over a five-year recovery period. A total of 36 species were recorded in the first year, increasing to 71 in the third year and stabilizing at 74 species by year five. Understory α-diversity showed an increasing trend followed by a decline.

Tartary buckwheat hulls, a phenolic-rich by-product of buckwheat processing, offer great potential for resource utilization. In this study, ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction with two temperatures (40 °C and 50 °C) was employed to obtain phenolics from Tartary buckwheat hulls. Compared with the traditional extraction method (207 mg/100 g), ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction increased the total phenolic yield by 91.

Cottonseeds, rich in high-quality protein and fatty acids, represent a vital plant-derived feedstuff and edible oil resource. To systematically investigate genetic variation patterns in nutritional quality and screen superior germplasm, this study analyzed 26 nutritional quality traits and 8 fiber traits across 259 upland cotton ( L.) accessions using multivariate statistical approaches.
