Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are considered as a promising energy storage system because of good safety, low cost, abundant resources, and environmental friendliness. However, the bottlenecks including dendrite growth, hydrogen evolution, and corrosion seriously limit their practical application. Herein, a novel ZnSn(OH) coating layer with rich hydroxyl groups is employed to achieve highly stable Zn anode. The hydroxyl groups can feasibly interact with HO molecules, contributing to the desolvation of hydrated Zn and the inhibition of side reactions on Zn anode surface. Furthermore, according to the DFT calculation, the adsorption energy of Zn among various sites on the surface of ZnSn(OH) coating layer is relatively large, which helps the uniform distribution of Zn flux and the prevention of dendrite growth. Consequently, the ZnSn(OH)@Zn anode delivers ultra-long cycle life (6770 h), low polarization voltage (27 mV), and high Coulombic efficiency (99.2% over 800 cycles) at 1 mA cm, 1 mAh cm. Besides, the assembled NaVO·xHO//ZnSn(OH)@Zn full cell can operate stably for 1500 cycles at 2 A g with a high specific capacity of 144.9 mAh g, demonstrating an excellent application potential. This simple and effective coating layer with high electrochemical performance provides an appealing strategy for the development of rechargeable AZIBs.

Metal matrix composites are widely employed in aerospace and marine engineering due to their excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability. However, their surfaces remain vulnerable to corrosion, icing, and mechanical wear, severely compromising long-term reliability in harsh environments. Inspired by natural superhydrophobic surfaces such as lotus leaves, functional interfaces with high water repellency and interfacial stability can be engineered through the synergistic design of hierarchical micro/nanostructures and low-surface-energy chemical modifications.

The most significant challenge facing magnesium alloy stents is their ability to withstand complex deformation during their application. To gain a deeper understanding of the impact of stent deformation on the protective capabilities of the coating, this paper presents an amplified stent deformation model. The models were coated with either a low elongation material-Poly(D, L-lactide) (PDLLA) or a high elongation material-Poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), followed by the application of a rapamycin-loaded PLGA as drug-eluting layer.

We report the performance of solid-state ceramic supercapacitors (SSCs) based on a novel composite electrolyte comprising aluminum-doped lithium lanthanum titanate perovskite, LiLaTiAlO (Al-doped LLTO), and the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIM BF). Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction data confirms the preservation of the tetragonal perovskite phase after Al substitution, indicating structural stability of the host lattice. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy further corroborate the successful incorporation of Al without forming secondary phases.

Bacterial detection is crucial for accurate clinical diagnostics and effective environmental monitoring. Particularly, , a pathogenic bacterium, can cause a wide range of infections, including meningitis, bloodstream infections, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and wound or surgical site infections. Herein, a polypyrrole (PPy) functionalized TiCT -tin dioxide nanoparticle (SnO NPs) nanocomposite-based hybrid capacitive electrode for the electrochemical detection of ATCC 700603 is developed.

Metasurfaces provide an ideal platform for optical sensing because they produce strong light-field confinement and enhancement over extended regions that allow us to identify deep-subwavelength layers of organic and inorganic molecules. However, the requirement of using external light sources involves bulky equipment that hinders point-of-care applications. Here we introduce a plasmonic sensor with an embedded source of light provided by quantum tunnel junctions.
