We provide preliminary evidence that, also in children, Long coronavirus disease (COVID) may be characterized by a proinflammatory signature. Ten Long COVID patients, 7 convalescent subjects after COVID infection and 4 healthy controls were enrolled. When adjusted for sex, children with long COVID had statistically significant differences in the levels of Flt3L, CD5, uPA, CCL23, CD40 and TGFα. When adjusted for age, CCL23 levels remained statistically significant.

Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that remains underrecognized across Africa, where limited diagnostic capacity, low awareness, and competing health priorities contribute to delayed or missed diagnoses [1-4]. Although increasing data suggests CF is more prevalent than previously believed in Africa, survival remains poor [1]. These challenges do not only affect people with CF (pwCF) in Africa but also have implications for global understanding of the disease, particularly among populations historically excluded from CF research and treatment advances.

Objective: Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental enamel defect affecting one in six children worldwide. Although antibiotics have been suggested to influence dental development, their association with MIH remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the association between early childhood antibiotic exposure and the risk of developing MIH.

Background: Long COVID, or Post-COVID Conditions (PCC), refers to new and persisting sequelae occurring in the months following an acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. Although previous studies have reported estimates of PCC incidence, few have examined trends during the Omicron variant period or have included geographically distinct regions for the same time periods.
Methods: Track PCC is a surveillance network, leveraging electronic health records and public health data to monitor incidence over time across five diverse geographic sites in the U.

Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) types 2 and 3 are chronic neuromuscular disorders characterized by progressive motor impairment. Although disease-modifying therapies such as risdiplam and nusinersen have shown clinical efficacy, real-world data in pediatric populations remain limited. This prospective observational study evaluated motor function outcomes in 20 children with SMA (aged 3 to 13 years; 12 with type 2, 8 with type 3) receiving either risdiplam or nusinersen in Northwestern Iran.
