Objective: Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental enamel defect affecting one in six children worldwide. Although antibiotics have been suggested to influence dental development, their association with MIH remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the association between early childhood antibiotic exposure and the risk of developing MIH.

Purpose: Radiation exposure is a well-recognized occupational hazard for catheterization lab personnel. However, the extent of exposure disparities among different staff roles remains unclear. Existing research primarily focuses on primary operators, leaving a gap in understanding radiation risks for ancillary staff.

Introduction: Vitiligo, a chronic depigmenting disorder affecting 1-2% of the global population, is caused by immune-mediated melanocyte destruction. While its pathogenesis is multifactorial, the relationship between vitiligo and malignancy risk remains controversial. Some studies suggest an increased cancer risk, while others propose a potential protective effect, particularly against skin cancers.

Context: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare, aggressive malignancy with a high recurrence and mortality rate even after complete resection. Therefore, intensification of adjuvant therapies is crucial, though their effectiveness remains controversial.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the efficacy and safety of available treatments by considering the prognostic factors affecting disease outcomes.

Background: Pancreatic cancer (PC) has a low chance of resection, and a consistent burden of disease, with pain greatly impacting the quality of life (QoL). We aim to find the most efficient method to treat pain in patients with unresectable PC.

Methods: Our study was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42023477094).

Objectives: CTRB2-del, a commonly occurring loss-of-function deletion variant in the CTRB2 gene encoding chymotrypsinogen B2 was shown to induce endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and increase risk for pancreatic cancer but not for chronic pancreatitis (CP). Since other digestive enzyme variants that cause misfolding and induce ER stress are strong risk factors for CP, the lack of association between CP and the CTRB2-del variant is surprising. The aim of the present study was to re-examine the biochemical and clinical characteristics of the CTRB2-del variant.

Purpose Of The Review: As cancer survival rates are increasing, alternative treatments to improve quality of life, such as cannabinoids, are gaining attention. Although cannabinoids are widely used to manage cancer-related symptoms, clear guidelines are lacking. This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids in the management of symptoms among cancer patients.

Introduction: This study aimed to compare the surgical outcomes of trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage device (GDD) implantation in patients with congenital aniridia.

Methods: Eligible studies were retrieved from Embase, MEDLINE (via PubMed), and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) up to December 15, 2024. Studies were included if they reported clinical outcomes following trabeculectomy or GDD implantation in individuals with aniridic glaucoma.

: Nausea and vomiting frequently occur during postoperative recovery, chemotherapy, and pregnancy. While peppermint oil is traditionally used to relieve these symptoms, its efficacy remains uncertain. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the efficacy of peppermint oil inhalation for postoperative (PONV), chemotherapy-induced (CINV), and pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting (NVP).

Background: Orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption (OIIRR) is a common adverse effect of orthodontic treatments. Radiographs are routinely used to diagnose OIIRR; however, 3-dimensional cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) studies have recently been conducted to assess hard tissue loss more accurately. There is controversial evidence of differences between aligners and fixed appliances in terms of OIIRR.

Background: Endometriosis is a disease often associated with chronic pelvic pain (CPP). It affects around 190 million females of reproductive age globally.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of physiotherapy techniques (PTs) in relieving endometriosis-associated pain.

Background: Microscopic colitis (MC) is still an underdiagnosed disease due to its primarily histological appearance. We aimed to address the scarcity and inconsistency of data on MC risk factors.

Methods: Our protocol was prospectively registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022286624).

Background: Spontaneous mentalizing refers to the capacity to attribute mental states to oneself and others without explicit prompts or conscious deliberation. This process enables individuals to comprehend and anticipate social behaviors in a more intuitive manner. Individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia frequently demonstrate deficits in this domain, which contribute to impaired social functioning.

Background And Objective: Small-cell bladder cancer (SCBC) is an aggressive and rare malignancy for which there is no clear optimal treatment strategy. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the median overall survival (OS) of patients with limited-stage (LS) SCBC treated with either cystectomy-based multimodal therapy (CBMMT) or radiation-based multimodal therapy (RBMMT).

Methods: A comprehensive search of PUBMED, Embase, and Scopus databases was performed for studies published before January 2024 according to the PRISMA guidelines.

Context: Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent in chronic liver disease. Although international societies recommend vitamin D supplementation in cases of proven deficiency, the impact of vitamin D on chronic liver disease remains uncertain.

Objective: Our aim was to evaluate the effects of vitamin D supplementation in patients with chronic liver disease by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Early detection through non-invasive methods is critical for improving patient outcomes. This study investigates the association between the presence and relative abundance of Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn) in saliva and CRC, evaluating its potential as a non-invasive biomarker.

The primary etiologic risk factor for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is obesity. As incretin-based therapies, specifically glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and dual GLP-1/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) agonists, have shown promising outcomes in obesity management, these medications have generated interest in OSA therapy. To investigate their efficacy in OSA, we performed a systematic literature search following PRISMA and Cochrane Handbook guidelines for studies reporting apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and incretin-based therapy in patients with OSA.

Background: Insufficient marginal and internal adaptation can lead to secondary caries, pulp infection, periodontal disease, and tooth loss. This network meta-analysis (NMA) assessed the impact of various finish line designs on the marginal and internal adaptation of ceramic fixed dental prostheses.

Methods: In vitro studies were conducted comparing the adaptation of full-ceramic fixed dental prostheses with various preparation designs (chamfer, shoulder, rounded shoulder, and vertical).

: Gastrointestinal endoscopy is crucial for diagnosing colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases, but its effectiveness can be impacted by peristalsis, poor bowel preparation, and inadequate withdrawal time. Conventional antispasmodics, though effective, may not be suitable for elderly patients or those with comorbidities. L-menthol, derived from peppermint oil, has emerged as a safer alternative.

Remote telemedical management (RTM) in heart failure (HF) patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) is a reliable approach to follow device-specific and heart failure-related parameters. However, while some positive outcome data is available, results are inconclusive. We aimed to assess the benefits of continuous remote telemonitoring (RTM) compared to the in-person visit (IPV) in reducing all-cause mortality, heart failure hospitalizations (HFH), cardiovascular (CV) deaths, and the occurrence of inappropriate therapy.
