Background: During intense exercise, anaerobic metabolism predominantly produces energy in the body, resulting in lactic acid (LA) accumulation, which contributes to muscle fatigue and soreness and may also impair neurological and cardiovascular functions. In endurance sports, the lactate threshold (LT) is a key indicator of an athlete's capacity to clear and utilize LA, directly influencing athletic performance and endurance. Therefore, LA detection is crucial for assessing the physical condition of both athletes and the general population, as well as for optimizing training programs.

Introduction: Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion (LLIF) is based on a less-invasive access corridor through the retroperitoneum and psoas muscle, though concerns persist over postoperative weakness and neuropathy on the surgical side. This study investigates if the trans-psoas LLIF approach is associated with long-term changes in psoas morphology, hip flexor (HF) weakness, and lower extremity dysesthesia.
Methods: The authors retrospectively reviewed all LLIF cases at a single institution from January 2016 to June 2024.

Dome-shaped macula (DSM) is a distinctive anatomical entity characterized by an inward convexity of the macula, initially described in highly myopic eyes within posterior staphyloma, but it is now recognized as occurring across a broader spectrum of refractive conditions, including mild myopia and even emmetropia. Since its initial description in 2008, advances in imaging technologies and longitudinal studies have significantly improved our understanding of DSM. This review analyzed the recent literature, focusing on publications from the last 10 years.

While the global dissemination of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) in clinical isolates from various animals is well-documented, research on Klebsiella pneumoniae in Trichomonas gallinae-infected pigeons, particularly concerning antibiotic resistance genes in China, remains limited. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between oral harmful microbiota in pigeons and T. gallinae infection, as well as to isolate K.
