Presenting quantitative data using non-standardized color maps potentially results in unrecognized misinterpretation of data. Clinically meaningful color maps should intuitively and inclusively represent data without misleading interpretation. Uniformity of the color gradient for color maps is critically important. Maximal color and lightness contrast, readability for color vision-impaired individuals, and recognizability of the color scheme are highly desirable features. This article describes the use of color maps in five key quantitative MRI techniques: relaxometry, diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE)-MRI, MR elastography (MRE), and water-fat MRI. Current display practice of color maps is reviewed and shortcomings against desirable features are highlighted. EVIDENCE LEVEL: 5 TECHNICAL EFFICACY: Stage 2.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological profile and spatial distribution of human visceral leishmaniasis cases in Crateús, Ceará, Brazil, from 2007 to 2023.
Methods: This was a retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional study based on epidemiologic data from the Notifiable Health Conditions Information System regarding human visceral leishmaniasis in Crateús between 2007 and 2023. The variables assessed were sex, age group at the time of diagnosis, race/skin color, education level, HIV coinfection, case outcome, neighborhood of residence, area of residence, and number of deaths per year of notification.

The increasing frequency of ransomware attacks necessitates the development of more effective detection methods. Existing image-based ransomware detection approaches have largely focused on static analysis, overlooking specialized ransomware behaviors such as encryption, privilege escalation, and system recovery disruption. Although dynamic and memory forensics-based visualization methods exist in the broader malware domain, they primarily target generic malware families and often rely on memory dumps or system snapshots without transforming behavioral features into spatially meaningful representations.

The Tyrrhenian tree frog (Hyla sarda) is a small cryptically coloured amphibian found in Corsica, Sardinia, and the Tuscan Archipelago. Investigation into the species' evolutionary history has revealed phenotypic changes triggered by glaciation-induced range expansion, but understanding the genetic basis of this trait variation has been hampered by the lack of a reference genome. To address this, we assembled a chromosome-level genome of Hyla sarda using PacBio HiFi long reads, Bionano optical maps, and Hi-C data.
