Takotsubo syndrome (TS), also known as stress-induced cardiomyopathy, is classically characterized by an acute onset mimicking myocardial infarction and by distinctive transient wall motion abnormalities detectable via echocardiography, often resembling a Japanese octopus trap (the so-called "takotsubo"). The possibility that a genetic background may contribute to TS susceptibility emerged early, supported by several familial case reports. Despite a large number of investigations, no definitive genetic markers associated with TS risk have been conclusively identified.

Aiming at the problem of the insufficient sealing performance of the solenoid valve poppet under a high working load and inspired by the multilevel groove structure of the octopus sucker and the adaptive sealing mechanism, a bionics-based design scheme for an annular groove sealing structure is proposed. By extracting the microscopic groove morphology features of the octopus sucker, we designed a multilayer rectangular cross-section groove structure at the annular interface, combined the designed structure with the Abaqus cohesive model to simulate the interface stripping behavior, and verified its mechanical properties by the pull-out test. The results show that the bionic groove structure significantly improves the bearing capacity of the sealing ring by enhancing the interface contact stress distribution and delaying the crack extension.

Microtubule Associated Protein MAP1B is expressed at high levels during the early development of the nervous system, playing important roles in axonal growth, neuronal migration, and branching, as well as dendritic spine morphogenesis and synapse formation. MAP1B belongs to the MAP1 family, which includes MAP1A and MAP1S, as well as a known homolog in Drosophila (the Futsch gene). MAP1B is a polyprotein that undergoes proteolytic processing into heavy (HC) and light chains (LC1).

Purpose: To evaluate the functional and anatomic outcomes of brolucizumab in treatment-naïve adults (≥50years) with neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
Methods: This was a single-arm, open-label, multicenter study. Patients (n=210) were treated with brolucizumab 6mg at Weeks (W) 0, 4 and 8, then every 12weeks (q12w) or 8weeks (q8w) depending on disease activity.
