The quantitative analysis of pulsed-chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) using a full model-based method is computationally challenging, as it involves dealing with varying RF values in pulsed saturation. A power equivalent continuous approximation of B power was usually applied to accelerate the analysis. In line with recent consensus recommendations from the CEST community for pulsed-CEST at 3T, particularly recommending a high RF saturation power (B = 2.0 µT) for the clinical application in brain tumors, this technical note investigated the feasibility of using average power (AP) as the continuous approximation. The simulated results revealed excellent performance of the AP continuous approximation in low saturation power scenarios, but discrepancies were observed in the z-spectra for the high saturation power cases. Cautions should be taken, or it may lead to inaccurate fitted parameters, and the difference can be more than 10% in the high saturation power cases.

Hypothesis: On highly cleaned planar surfaces submerged in highly cleaned water, flat surface nanobubbles with an angle of attachment of ∼15 are observed - never on engineering surfaces submerged in plain water, though here unidentified cavitation nuclei are always present and cause low tensile strength.
Experiments: In the present study, surface nanobubbles are generated by standard experimental techniques on a polished steel surface, and we find that the shape and the angles of attachment of the bubbles are influenced by the local substrate topography. These observations align with the theory of non-adsorbed liquid zones, which explains a surface nanobubble as a bubble with a skin of contamination molecules, which bond along the bubble rim at a contact angle of ∼14.

Introduction: Socioeconomic status (SES) is a recognised determinant of epilepsy outcome, yet it remains unclear whether epilepsy management is effectively contextualised to meet the needs of individuals across different SES backgrounds. This study explored how adults with epilepsy perceive the influence of SES on their care and self-management.
Methods: In-depth, semi-structured videoconference or telephone interviews were conducted until data saturation with fifteen adults (11 women, 18-75 years) recruited through national epilepsy charities.

Accurately determining initial water saturation is essential for assessing reservoir resources and optimizing development, yet conventional J-function methods face challenges such as variability in curve fitting due to sample heterogeneity, less-than-optimal grouping schemes, and limited core sample availability. This study addressed these issues by analyzing 55 J-function curves from the N reservoir in Iraq's Zagros Basin, identifying permeability as the primary factor influencing curve shape. A novel classification method was developed, categorizing curves into power function and exponential function types based on permeability thresholds.
