In materials science, doping plays a crucial role in manipulating the electronic properties of materials. Conventional screening via a trial-and-error strategy is challenging owing to the enormous chemical space. We proposed a connected convolutional neutral network (CCNN) for quick screening of boron nitrogen (B-N) codoped graphdiyne in terms of band gap. A paired-atomic localized matrix (PALM) descriptor was designed to describe the local chemical environment of materials with the matrix form adapted to a neutral network. An attribution analysis was conducted, and a quantitative relationship between structure and band gap is proposed, which reveals more significant influence of B-N doping at sp hybridized sites than at sp hybridized sites on broadening of the band gap of GDY. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed approach implicate its potential in promoting the design of graphdiyne-based optoelectronic devices and catalysts with expected electronic properties, opening a new avenue for rational design of novel materials.

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the swelling behavior of poly-(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-based hydrogels of different molecular weights under various conditions. The rheological response and swelling kinetics of PEG hydrogels with molecular weight between cross-links ranging from 700 to 10 000 g/mol reveal the connection between architecture and material properties that are important for soft actuators. In addition to providing insight into the network structure and cross-linking density, rheological measurements find that the shear moduli of the networks increase with the degree of water swelling.

Background: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies examining emotional memory encoding often use event-related designs with stimuli in the form of words or pictures. Prior research has suggested differential hemispheric specialization for these stimulus types, yet no meta-analysis has directly compared the neural systems involved in each.
Methods: A meta-analysis was conducted using peer-reviewed, event-related fMRI studies.

The effectiveness and tolerability of medicines can vary considerably from person to person, even at the same dose. This variation is influenced by many factors, including constitutional genetic characteristics. In fact, some people have genetic variations that are common and neutral in the population, known as polymorphisms, which can affect drug metabolism or make them more susceptible to certain adverse effects.

Neutral aqueous Zn-air batteries (ZABs), while promising for extended lifespans and recyclability compared to alkaline systems, are hindered by sluggish kinetics that limit energy efficiency and power output. Here, we report an effective approach to construct a photo-assisted near-neutral ZAB based on a photo-responsive titanium silicalite-1 zeolite (TS-1). The incorporation of Ru active centers into the 3D porous architecture of TS@C (Ru@TS@C), which exhibits remarkably enhanced electronic conduction, creates interconnected conductive pathways.

Based on the establishment data of provincial-provincial, city-city, provincial-city, city-provincial Hometown Chambers of Commerce (HCCs) in China by the end of 2022, this paper combines social network analysis and exponential random graph model to explore network spatial patterns and determinants of China's HCCs. Findings indicate that: 1) Point degree centrality in eastern China is high, but spatial patterns vary across network types: provincial-provincial and provincial-city types exhibit a "rhombus-net" pattern, the city-city type follows a "small-ring-line" structure, and the city-provincial type forms a "large-ring-net" type. Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Shandong constitute core areas of China's HCC network, and provincial-provincial and city-city types mainly flow within the core area and from core to periphery, while provincial-city and city-provincial types flow mutually between core and periphery areas.
