Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare neoplasms characterized by spindle neoplastic cell proliferation within collagenous stroma and prominent dilated vasculature. They present a wide histopathological spectrum, ranging from hypocellular lesions with a rich collagenous stroma to hypercellular lesions with scant stroma. Meningeal SFTs are usually hypercellular, and their cytological features remain poorly characterized.

BackgroundAlpha-synuclein is associated with neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease (PD). Recent studies have increasingly recognized incidences of cardiac complaints in PD patients. In particular, the occurrence of arrhythmias in PD patients may indicate potential electrophysiological alterations in the heart.

This paper proposes a model-based method for partition optimization in Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems that comply with the ARINC 653 standard. It is a complex combinatorial optimization problem to schedule a variety of real-time partitions to achieve maximum processor utilization in an IMA system. Our approach effectively utilizes timed automata in UPPAAL to address the modeling challenges posed by the ARINC 653 features, including two-level scheduling, multi-core processors, and both strictly and loosely periodic partitions.

Enhancing the solubility of plant proteins after drying is crucial for their commercial applications. This study investigates the improvement of pea protein isolate (PPI) powder solubility through media milling coupled with mild alkaline pH 10 shifting and heat treatment (100°C, 1 h). Compared to neutral milling at pH7, the combined treatment increased PPI solubility from 26.

Vaccine formulations containing aluminum adjuvants can be difficult to resuspend after prolonged storage, rendering them unsuitable for administration. While earlier studies suggested that the increased flocculation generated loosely packed sediments, there is a lack of mechanistic understanding on how particle packing affects resuspendability. In this study, we observe an exponential correlation between the weight fraction of sediments and the number of inversions required for complete resuspension of aluminum phosphate adjuvants formulated with varying ionic strengths (0 and 150 mM sodium chloride), protein types (bovine serum albumin and lysozyme), and protein concentrations (0, 0.
