Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze the rate of enhanced recovery programs (ERP) implementation in a range of surgical specialties in both the public and private sectors.
Methods: This was a retrospective longitudinal study based on hospital stays between March to December 2019. We studied thirteen of the activity segments most frequently included in ERP protocol. The procedures selected included digestive, gynecological, orthopedic, thoracic, and urological procedures. The assessment criteria was the rate of ERP. The results were analyzed first overall and then matching ERP stays to non-ERP stays according to type of institution, patient age and sex, month of discharge, and Charlson comorbidity score.
Results: We took 420,031 stays into account, of which 78,119 were coded as ERP. There were 62,403 non-ERP stays. Depending on the type of surgery, the implementation rate ranged from 5 percent to 30 percent. The overall rate of ERP implementation was higher in the private sector (21.2 percent) than in the public sector (14.4 percent). The results are reversed for some surgeries, notably for some cancers. Patients had a higher Charlson score in the public sector.
Conclusions: This large-scale national study provides a picture of the degree of diffusion of ERPs in France. Although there are differences between sectors, this diffusion is still insufficient overall. Given the demonstrated benefits of ERPs, more educational efforts are needed to improve their implementation in France.

Materials And Methods: A total of 2865 adults enrolled in a multicenter cohort study (iCral3 study) after CCS were followed up. The percentage adherence to the ERP was recorded, and the patients were grouped according to their quartiles.

Introduction: The preservation of the human self-a fundamental yet underexplored aspect of neurosurgical practice-has gained increasing attention in recent years.
Research Question: How can neural correlates of self-consciousness be identified, monitored, and protected during brain tumor surgery, and how might this reshape the concept of "onco-functional balance"?
Material And Methods: This review synthesizes emerging evidence from neuroimaging, neuropsychology, and intraoperative neurophysiology to build a framework for integrating the concept of self into modern neurosurgical practice.
Results: We describe the anatomical and functional basis of bodily and cognitive self-awareness, highlighting the roles of interoception, multisensory integration, and higher-order cortical networks such as the medial prefrontal cortex, insula and temporoparietal junction.

Brain-computer interface (BCI) technology faces structural risks due to a misalignment between its technological maturity and industrialization expectations. This study used the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) framework to assess the status of major BCI paradigms-such as steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP), motor imagery, and P300-and found that they predominantly remained at TRL4 to TRL6, with few stable applications reaching TRL9. The analysis identified four interrelated sources of bubble risk: overly broad definitions of BCI, excessive focus on decoding performance, asynchronous translational progress, and imprecise terminology usage.

Background: Understanding the mechanisms of pathological brain network activity and the efficacy of therapies requires testing hypothesis in vivo, where brain circuitry remains preserved. Therefore, animal models are a key tool in the study of primary neurological disorders such as migraine, stroke and epilepsy. These models not only have advanced our understanding of the underlying neurobiology of these disorders but have also provided novel pharmacological targets and insights on shared pathophysiological processes such as spreading depolarizations (SD).

To support EEG signal acquisition in a variety of real-world scenarios, BCI electrode systems must demonstrate a balanced combination of electrical performance, wearing comfort, and portability. Dry electrodes have emerged as a promising alternative for EEG acquisition due to their ability to operate without conductive gel or complex skin preparation.
