A chitosan-based Cu fluorescent probe was designed and synthesized independently using the C-2-amino group of chitosan with 1, 8-naphthalimide derivatives. A series of experiments were conducted to characterize the optical properties of the grafted probe. The fluorescence quenching effect was investigated based on the interactions between the probe and common metals. It was found that the proposed probe displayed selective interaction with Cu over other metal ions and anions, reaching equilibrium within 5 min.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the long-term clinical outcomes of regenerative procedures compared with access flap surgery for the treatment of intrabony defects, with a minimum follow-up period of 5 years. A systematic review protocol following PRISMA guidelines was conducted. Both electronic and manual searches were conducted to identify randomized clinical trials (RCTs) on regenerative treatment of deep intrabony defects (≥3 mm) with a follow-up of at least 5 years.

A novel magnetic nanostructured molecularly imprinted polymer probe (FeO@MIP) was developed for the continuous detection of Ti/Fe. The synthesis employed 50 nm FeO nanoparticles as the core matrix, with Ti and Fe serving as template molecules. Functional monomers α-methylacrylic acid (MAA) and acrylamide (AM) were used, along with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the crosslinking agent and 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the polymerization initiator, utilizing a microwave-assisted procedure.

Purpose: To develop and evaluate a volumetric proton resonance frequency shift (PRF)-based thermometry method for monitoring thermal ablation in moving tissues.
Methods: A golden-angle-ordered 3D stack-of-radial MRI sequence was combined with an image-navigated multi-baseline (iNAV-MB) PRF method to reconstruct motion-compensated 3D temperature maps with high spatiotemporal resolution and volumetric coverage. Two radial MRI reconstruction techniques, k-space weighted image contrast filter (KWIC) and golden-angle radial sparse parallel (GRASP) MRI, were implemented and compared within a sliding window reconstruction framework.

Paraptosis is a distinct form of programmed cell death characterized by cytoplasmic vacuolization, mitochondrial swelling, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) dilation, offering an alternative to apoptosis for therapeutic applications. In this study, we identified a hemicyanine derivative that is a potent paraptosis inducer in two cancer cell lines. This compound triggers hallmark paraptotic features, including ER swelling, mitochondrial morphological changes, increased superoxide production, and caspase-independent cell death.
