Purpose: The liver-brain axis regulates metabolic homeostasis, with glucose metabolism playing a key role. Liver dysfunction, such as fibrosis, may impact brain metabolism and consequently, brain function. Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging provides a non-invasive approach to study glucose metabolism in both organs.

Remembering past events usually takes less time than their actual duration - events are temporally compressed in memory. A recent study found that this compression is not systematic but emerges when continuous events exceed approximately 9 s. Unexpectedly, however, remembering shorter events (3-6 s) took more time than their actual duration.

Purpose: To report a rare case of bilateral necrotising retinitis caused by a potentially novel human adenovirus D (HAdV-D) in a post-bone marrow transplant patient and to highlight the diagnostic challenges and therapeutic role of intravenous cidofovir, alongside a review of previously reported cases of human adenovirus (HAdV) retinitis.
Methods: Retrospective case report.
Results: A 60-year-old man with a history of acute myeloid leukaemia, in remission post-bone marrow transplant, presented with bilateral hypertensive granulomatous panuveitis and necrotising retinitis.

This study investigated the pharmacogenomic impact of low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) 3' untranslated region (UTR) variants on rosuvastatin efficacy in a Chinese Han adult cohort with dyslipidemia.
