Metasurface holograms, with the capability to manipulate spatial light amplitudes and phases, are considered next-generation solutions for holographic imaging. However, conventional fabrication approaches for meta-atoms are heavily dependent on electron-beam lithography (EBL), a technique known for its expensive and time-consuming nature. In this paper, a polarization-insensitive metasurface hologram is proposed using a cost-effective and rapid nanoimprinting method with titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticle loaded polymer (NLP). Based on a simulation, it has been found that, despite a reduction in the aspect ratio of meta-atoms of nearly 20%, which is beneficial to silicon master etching, NLP filling, and the mold release processes, imaging efficiency can go up to 54% at wavelength of 532 nm. In addition, it demonstrates acceptable imaging quality at wavelengths of 473 and 671 nm. Moreover, the influence of fabrication errors and nanoimprinting material degradation in terms of residual layer thickness, meta-atom loss or fracture, thermal-induced dimensional variation, non-uniform distribution of TiO particles, etc., on the performance is investigated. The simulation results indicate that the proposed device exhibits a high tolerance to these defects, proving its applicability and robustness in practice.

Background: Chagas heart disease (ChD) is a significant public health concern in Latin America, contributing to a high incidence of sudden cardiac death (SCD). Despite advances in heart failure treatment, management of Chagas cardiomyopathy has not progressed accordingly. While ICDs are effective for primary and secondary prevention in other conditions, patients with ChD often experience more frequent episodes of ventricular tachycardia, and ICD use may provide a negative impact and increase mortality.

Objective: To evaluate clinical and laboratory effectiveness of ultrasound treatment for purulent wounds.
Material And Methods: The study enrolled 46 patients with purulent wounds divided into the main group (23 patients, ultrasonic treatment) and the control group (23 patients, traditional treatment). We assessed treatment effectiveness considering visual data, quality of granulation tissue, wound defect area and marginal epithelialization, complete blood count and C-reactive protein.

Anti-Aβ antibodies are important tools for identifying structural features of aggregates of the Aβ peptide and are used in many aspects of Alzheimer's disease (AD) research. Our laboratory recently reported the generation of a polyclonal antibody, pAb2AT-L, that is moderately selective for oligomeric Aβ over monomeric and fibrillar Aβ and recognizes the diffuse peripheries of Aβ plaques in AD brain tissue but does not recognize the dense fibrillar plaque cores. This antibody was generated against 2AT-L, a structurally defined Aβ oligomer mimic composed of three Aβ-derived β-hairpins arranged in a triangular fashion and covalently stabilized with three disulfide bonds.

The low dose dexamethasone stimulation test (LDDST) is routinely used in canine medicine but in the few cases in guinea pigs diagnosed with hypercortisolism, the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation test was used. The objective of the authors was to conduct a pilot study and find out if the standard test used in dogs can be used in this species.A 4-year-old intact female hairless guinea pig showed bilaterally enlarged adrenal glands and high cortisol levels.

The effect of shape and size of embolic agents on embolization phenomena has been discussed clinically for transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE). We numerically discussed the unique embolization behavior of new deformable toroidal microparticles in blood vessels by computational fluid dynamics simulations. We employed an Eulerian-Eulerian (full Eulerian) fluid-structure interaction (FSI) method to analyze the flow and deformation behaviors of a deformable torus in a cylindrical pipe.
