Enteroids are in vitro models to study gastrointestinal pathologies and test personalized therapeutics; however, the inherent complexity of enteroids often renders standard gene editing approaches ineffective. Here, we introduce a refined lentiviral transfection protocol, ensuring sufficient lentiviral engagement with enteroids while considering spatiotemporal growth variability throughout the extracellular matrix. Additionally, we highlight a selection process for transduced cells, introduce a protocol to accurately measure transduction efficiency, and explore methodologies to gauge effects of gene knockdown on biological processes.

This study introduces a new, highly sensitive, and reliable method for detecting and measuring orthophosphate in environmental water samples. This method combines cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-mediated coacervation extraction with digital image-based colorimetry, providing a robust and efficient approach for orthophosphate analysis. In this system, CTAB, a cationic surfactant, serves a dual role as both an ion-pairing agent and an extraction medium.

This study presents a comprehensive first-principles and device-performance investigation of alkali metal-based anti-perovskites ZBrO (Z = K, Rb, Cs, and Fr) for advanced optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications. Using density functional theory (DFT) with GGA-PBE and mGGA-rSCAN functionals, we analyzed the structural, electronic, optical, mechanical, phonon, population, and thermoelectric properties of these compounds. All ZBrO materials exhibit direct band gaps and strong optical absorption in the visible-UV spectrum.

Background: Ivarmacitinib (SHR0302), a selective Janus kinase-1 inhibitor, is a novel treatment for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD).
Objectives: This post hoc analysis evaluated the impact of early itch relief with ivarmacitinib on quality of life (QoL), working productivity, and sleep quality in affected patients.
Methods: Data from ivarmacitinib treatment groups in a phase III trial (NCT04875169) were analyzed.

The laboratory analysis of new psychoactive substances and related drugs is crucial for accurate clinical and forensic diagnosis of poisonings. Given this, a new LC-MS/MS method for analyzing hallucinogens, synthetic cathinones, and synthetic cannabinoids in urine was developed. Urine samples were extracted using a liquid-liquid extraction protocol optimized via a multivariate experimental design.
