Flowering time is a critical agronomic trait with a profound effect on the productivity and adaptability of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.). Strategically advancing flowering time can reduce the risk of yield losses due to extreme climatic conditions and facilitate the cultivation of subsequent crops on the same land, thereby enhancing overall agricultural efficiency.

The coordination of floral developmental stages with the environment is important for reproductive success and the optimization of crop yields. The timing of different developmental stages contributes to final yield potential with optimal adaptation enabling development to proceed without being impacted by seasonal weather events, including frosts or end of season drought. Here we characterise the role of FLOWERING LOCUS T 3 (FT3) in hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) during the early stages of floral development.

Abiotic stresses severely threaten global food security, underscoring the need for resilient crop varieties. We identified OsSPT38, a previously uncharacterized SUMO E3 ligase in rice, and discovered a rare gain-of-function mutation (Gly212Asp) that enhances both stress resilience and yield. This phenotype was validated in 18 additional independent mutants and by base editing in the elite indica cultivar Huanghuazhan.

is a significant submerged macrophyte utilized in shrimp and crab aquaculture, yet it exhibits low thermotolerance. This study investigated the physiological responses and transcriptomic characteristics of under high-temperature stress (HTS). The results indicated that HTS significantly reduced the absolute growth rate (AGR) and photosynthetic efficiency of while concurrently elevating antioxidant enzyme activities, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, and concentrations of osmotic adjustment compounds.

Zinc (Zn) deficiency poses a major global health challenge, and wheat grains generally contain low Zn concentrations. In this study, the wheat cultivar 'Zhongmai 175' was identified as zinc-efficient. Hydroponic experiments demonstrated that Zn deficiency induced the secretion of oxalic acid and malic acid in root exudates and significantly increased total root length in 'Zhongmai 175'.
