Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD), a global health challenge, is closely linked to renal fibrosis progression. Copper, an essential trace element, influences cellular functions, yet its role in CKD-related fibrosis remains unclear. This study explores the causal relationship between serum copper levels and renal fibrosis in CKD.

Copper (Cu) supplementation is essential in pig nutrition; however, its effects on performance, trace element accumulation in edible tissues, and environmental excretion require careful evaluation. In the present study a total of 24 male, castrated fattening pigs of two different hybrid mast lines (11 weeks of age) were divided according to their initial body weight (25.8 ± 3.

Background: Micronutrient deficiencies are common in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD), potentially contributing to adverse clinical outcomes. Hemodiafiltration with endogenous reinfusion (HFR) integrates convection, diffusion, and adsorption, potentially preserving essential nutrients better than traditional online hemodiafiltration (HDF). This study aimed to compare the acute effects of HFR and HDF on serum micronutrient concentrations in MHD patients.

Carboxylic enantiomers are prevalent in living organisms and synthetic samples that exhibit important biological properties. The profiling of carboxylic enantiomers is beneficial for monitoring physiological states and further unraveling the metabolism mechanisms between carboxylic enantiomers and diseases. In this study, pairs of light and heavy isotope reagents, ()-(3-aminopiperidin-1-yl) phenyl-methanone/-()-(3-aminopiperidin-1-yl) phenyl-methanone (APMA/-APMA), were synthesized and applied to tag the enantiomers of carboxylic metabolites and drugs.
