It is urgent to develop a polyamide (PA) thin-film composite (TFC) membrane with a new method in this study by designing and constructing a new nanomaterial support layer instead of the conventional support layer. Polydopamine-wrapped single-walled carbon nanotubes (PDA@MWCNTs) as the place of the polymerization reaction can optimize the PA film structure and performance. The resulting composite membrane presents a higher water flux of 15.8 L·m·h·bar and a rejection rate of 97% to NaSO, simultaneously maintaining this high separation performance in 300 min. It is a new ideal to construct novel support layer by using inorganic nanoparticles and organic polymer nanofiber membranes.

Pathogenic variants in the gene COQ4 cause primary coenzyme Q deficiency, which is associated with symptoms ranging from early epileptic encephalopathy up to adult-onset ataxia-spasticity spectrum disease. We genetically modified commercially available wild-type iPS cells by using a CRISPR/Cas9 approach to create heterozygous and homozygous isogenic cell lines carrying the disease-causing COQ4 variants c.458C > T, p.

Background And Objective: Male fertility assessment through sperm morphology analysis remains a critical component of reproductive health evaluation, as abnormal sperm morphology is strongly correlated with reduced fertility rates and poor assisted reproductive technology outcomes. Traditional manual analysis performed by embryologists is time-intensive, subjective, and prone to significant inter-observer variability, with studies reporting up to 40% disagreement between expert evaluators. This research presents a novel deep learning framework combining Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) with ResNet50 architecture and advanced deep feature engineering (DFE) techniques for automated, objective sperm morphology classification.

We report direct spectroscopic evidence of correlation-driven Mott states in layered Nb_{3}Cl_{8} through combining scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and dynamical mean-field theory. The Hubbard bands persist down to monolayer, providing the definitive evidence for the Mottness in Nb_{3}Cl_{8}. While the size of the Mott gap remains almost constant across all layers, a striking layer-parity-dependent oscillation emerges in the local density of states (LDOS) between even (n=2, 4, 6) and odd layers (n=1, 3, 5), which arises from the dimerization and correlation modulation of the obstructed atomic states, respectively.

Fanconi Anemia (FA) is a heritable syndrome characterized by DNA damage repair deficits, frequent malformations and a significantly elevated risk of bone marrow failure, leukemia, and mucosal head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). Hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy can prevent marrow failure and lower leukemia risk, but mucosal gene therapy to lower HNSCC risk remains untested. Major knowledge gaps include an incomplete understanding of how rapidly gene-corrected cellular lineages could spread through the oral epithelium, and which delivery parameters are critical for ensuring efficient gene correction.

Shocked quartz grains are an accepted indicator of crater-forming cosmic impact events, which also typically produce amorphous silica along the fractures. Furthermore, previous research has shown that shocked quartz can form when nuclear detonations, asteroids, and comets produce near-surface or "touch-down" airbursts. When cosmic airbursts detonate with enough energy and at sufficiently low altitude, the resultant relatively small, high-velocity fragments may strike Earth's surface with high enough pressures to generate thermal and mechanical shock that can fracture quartz grains and introduce molten silica into the fractures.
