Background: Tumoral calcinosis is a condition characterized by deposits of calcium phosphate crystals in extra-articular soft tissues, occurring in hemodialysis patients. Calcium phosphate crystals are mainly composed of hydroxyapatite, which is highly infiltrative to tissues, thus making complete resection difficult. An adjuvant method to remove or resolve the residual crystals during the operation is necessary.
Case Summary: A bicarbonate Ringer's solution with bicarbonate ions (28 mEq/L) was used as the adjuvant. After resecting calcium phosphate deposits of tumoral calcinosis as much as possible, while filling with the solution, residual calcium phosphate deposits at the pseudocyst wall can be gently scraped by fingers or gauze in the operative field. A 49-year-old female undergoing hemodialysis for 15 years had swelling with calcium deposition for 2 years in the shoulders, bilateral hip joints, and the right foot. A shoulder lesion was resected, but the calcification remained and early re-deposition was observed. Considering the difficulty of a complete rection, we devised a bicarbonate dissolution method and excised the foot lesion. After resection of the calcified material, the residual calcified material was washed away with bicarbonate Ringer's solution.
Conclusion: The bicarbonate dissolution method is a new, simple, and effective treatment for tumoral calcinosis in hemodialysis patients.

Idiopathic scrotal calcinosis (ISC) is a rare, benign dermatological condition consisting of deposits of calcium within the scrotal skin. On examination, ISC is characterized by painless, firm nodules and papules localized to the scrotal skin. Typically presenting in adolescence or early adulthood, ISC is more prevalent in males aged 20 to 40, though cases have been reported across all age groups.

Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of an integrated deep-learning (DL) algorithm, the Mixture of Radiological Findings Specific Experts (MoRFSE), in breast cancer classification by imitating the diagnostic decision-making process of radiologists.
Methods: A total of 2,764 mammographic images (1,462 breast cancer, 248 benign lesions, and 1,054 normal breast tissue) from the TOMPEI-CMMD were used. The MoRFSE comprises three DL models: a gate network for categorization (gNet) and two classification expert networks (cExp and mExp) specialized in capturing the distinct characteristics of calcifications and masses, respectively.

Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) is a growing global health burden, with no approved pharmacological treatments to date, indicating a substantial therapeutic gap and the need for deeper insight into its underlying mechanisms. Transcriptomic approaches, particularly RNA sequencing (RNAseq) and single-cell sequencing (scRNAseq), are emerging as powerful tools for unravelling the complex biology of the aortic valve (AV) in both normal and diseased states. This review summarises recent advances in our understanding of AV structure and function, with emphasis on valvular cell plasticity, heterogeneity and intercellular interactions-especially between valvular endothelial cells (VECs) and monocytes under physiological and pathological conditions.

Despite its rarity, ES has been linked to potential complications, including gingivitis, occlusal trauma, and delayed tooth eruption.
