Background: Evidence synthesis is an important tool to inform decision-making in public health policy and practice. Collaborative approaches to evidence synthesis involving researchers and the end-users of their research can enhance the relevance of the evidence for policy and practice and overcome the limitations of traditional evidence synthesis methods. Despite its benefits, collaboration is not consistently integrated into evidence-synthesis methods. Type of program or service: Collaborative evidence synthesis for public health policy and practice.
Methods: Reflecting on our experiences of undertaking collaborative evidence syntheses with end-users to inform policy and practice around preventive health in the first 2000 days of life, we have collated our key learnings to inform future collaborations in public health research.
Results: Key themes generated from our reflections were: 1) establish genuine partnerships early on with stakeholders, leveraging existing trusted relationships; 2) identify common goals; 3) prioritise evidence synthesis aims and objectives to ensure they are policy and practice relevant; and 4) maintain transparent, two-way communication.
Lessons Learnt: Collaboration involving researchers and end-users enhances knowledge synthesis methodologies, increases relevance and accessibility of the evidence for end-users, and strengthens research-policy relationships.

Migrasomes are newly discovered, migration-dependent organelles that mediate the release of cellular contents into the extracellular environment through a process known as migracytosis. Since their identification in 2014, growing evidence has highlighted their critical roles in intercellular communication, organ development, mitochondrial quality control, and disease pathogenesis. Migrasome biogenesis is a complex, multi-step process tightly regulated by lipid composition, tetraspanin-enriched microdomains, and molecular pathways involving sphingomyelin synthase 2, Rab35, and integrins.

Functioning upstream in immune activation cascades, MIF influences macrophage polarization, T and B cell differentiation, and cytokine expression through CD74, CXCR2/4/7, and downstream signaling via NF-κB, ERK1/2, and PI3K/AKT pathways. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of MIF's mechanistic functions under both physiological and pathological conditions, highlighting its dual role as a protective mediator during acute stress and as a pro-inflammatory amplifier in chronic disease.

Objective: Art therapy offers a predominantly non-verbal form of creative self-expression for people experiencing mental health issues. This systematic review aims to investigate the effectiveness and acceptability of art therapy for children and adolescents experiencing acute or severe mental health conditions.
Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, five electronic databases were searched (Embase, MEDLINE, Web of Science Core Collection, PsychINFO, CINAHL) using the search terms ('art therap*' OR 'art psychotherap*') AND ('child*' OR 'adolescen*' OR 'youth' OR 'young' OR 'teen*').

Hypervirulent (hvKp) and classical multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains belong to distinct lineages and hvKp are typically characterized by hypermucoid capsules that have been shown to limit horizontal gene transfer (HGT), including plasmid acquisition. However, the convergence of hypervirulence and MDR is increasingly common worldwide. When we profiled 127 antibiotic-susceptible hvKp strains, we found that most (86%) are highly permissive to plasmid transfer despite their capsules.

Multimorbidity of chronic diseases is one of the most common health issues among older adults, and the resulting demand for long-term medical care and management imposes a considerable burden on healthcare systems. Muscle strength, a core indicator of overall health status, is closely associated with the risk of developing multimorbidity of chronic diseases in older adults. Decline in muscle strength not only increases the risk of multimorbidity of chronic diseases but also interacts with it to exacerbate disease burden.
