Purpose: This study aimed to revise data published in the literature on the effects of cataract surgery on tear film characteristics, in relation to personal clinical surgical experience.
Methods: A search was undertaken using PubMed (all years). Search terms included 'cataract surgery', 'phacoemulsification', 'cataract extraction', and 'manual small-incision cataract surgery', combined at first with 'ocular surface' and 'lacrimal film'.

Cataract surgery is still the most common surgery performed worldwide. It has evolved tremendously in terms of incision, from 12 mm to 1.8 mm, in terms of capsulotomy from envelope type to automated capsulorhexis, and from rigid intraocular lens to foldable intraocular lenses.

Purpose: To determine if use of laminar air flow (LAF) and high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration during cataract surgery reduces the rate of postoperative endophthalmitis (POE).
Design: Retrospective, clinical cohort study.
Subjects: A total of 452 770 cataract surgeries performed at 14 hospitals within the Aravind Eye Care System in India during the 2023 calendar year.

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of two SCOLI designs (Yang's I/II) for astigmatism correction in manual cataract surgery and define incision size-astigmatism relationships.
Methods: A total of 72 eyes from 64 cataract patients who accept manual cataract extraction surgery via a SCOLI technique. The two different types of incision: Yang's I and II incisions were applied in this study.

Aims: The aim is to study the outcome of uveal coloboma patients undergoing manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
Subjects And Methods: The study included 14 patients with uveal coloboma who underwent small incision cataract surgery and IOL implantation between March 2022 and February 2023. The systemic analysis of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative data was done.
