The performance of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) improves survival among cardiac arrest victims. Near-peer teaching of Basic Life Support (BLS) may be an effective way to deliver resuscitation education. This article aims to assess the effectiveness of a student pharmacist-led American Heart Association (AHA) BLS course on high school students' knowledge and skill achievement. Student pharmacists were trained as AHA instructors and delivered BLS certification courses to high school students. Participants completed pre- and post-assessments adapted from the course learning objectives. Skills performance was evaluated using the AHA's standardized forms. Participants completed questions regarding their perceptions of the pharmacist's role in BLS and confidence in pursuing a career in healthcare. There were 321 participants with the majority in 11th or 12th grade (86.6%) and attending public school (99.1%). After completing the training, the mean percentage of correct assessment responses increased from 41.2% to 89% (p <0.0001). All participants correctly performed BLS skills. Most participants strongly agreed or agreed that the course changed their perspective of the pharmacist's role during BLS (74.8%) and increased their confidence in their decision to pursue future careers in healthcare (61.7%). Student pharmacist-led BLS training, using near-peer delivery, improves high school students' knowledge and skill achievement. This strategy promotes high school students' positive perceptions regarding pharmacists and their role in BLS, as well as their confidence in pursuing careers in healthcare.

Organic electrode materials have garnered great attention in recent years, owing to their resource sustainability, structural diversity, and superior compatibility with various ionic species. Among them, quinone-based compounds have attracted particular interest. Notably, compared with para-quinone analogs (e.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical characteristics, social deprivation, insurance coverage, and medication use across regional subsets of patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in the US.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of PsA patients in the Rheumatology Informatics System for Effectiveness (RISE) registry between January 2020 and March2023 was conducted. Distribution of high disease activity (HDA - RAPID3>12), high comorbidity (RxRisk ≥90 percentile), high Area Deprivation Index (ADI ≥80), insurance coverage, prednisone ≥10mg daily, and all DMARD therapies across geographic regions were evaluated.

A direct azidomethylation reaction at the sulfur atoms of thiols with -azidomethyldisulfonimides is presented, providing a facile and efficient approach for the synthesis of azidomethylated compounds with broad substrate scope and mild reaction conditions. Under optimized conditions using -azidomethyl-bis(4-trifluoromethylbenzene)sulfonimide as the azidomethyl source, various aliphatic and aromatic thiols furnish the corresponding -azidomethyl compounds in moderate to high yields. The reaction proceeds selectively at the mercapto group, even in substrates bearing polar functional groups.

Background: The aim of this study was to establish a rat model of premature ovarian failure (POF) with cyclophosphamide (CTX), and explore the molecular basis of POF and the mechanism of Guishen-Erxian Decoction (GSEXD) to improve POF from the perspective of oxidative stress regulation of ovarian granulosa cell (OGC) DNA fragmentation.
Method: The study utilized SD rats to establish a POF model via CTX. Rats were divided into Control, POF group, three GSEXD dosage groups (low, medium, high), and a GSEXD+PI3K agonist group to assess GSEXD's therapeutic effects on oxidative stress, DNA fragmentation and ovarian damage.
