One of the two chromosomal breakage events in recurring translocations in B cell neoplasms is often due to the recombination-activating gene complex (RAG complex) releasing DNA ends before end joining. The other break occurs in a fragile zone of 20-600 bp in a non-antigen receptor gene locus, with a more complex and intriguing set of mechanistic factors underlying such narrow fragile zones. These factors include activation-induced deaminase (AID), which acts only at regions of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). Recent work leads to a model involving the tethering of AID to the nascent RNA as it emerges from the RNA polymerase. This mechanism may have relevance in class switch recombination (CSR) and somatic hypermutation (SHM), as well as broader relevance for other DNA enzymes.

Introduction: Blood supply shortages remain a pressing global health issue, particularly in resource-limited regions. The West Bank region in Palestine, characterized by frequent conflicts and instability, faces additional challenges due to its fragile healthcare system, where a substantial proportion of blood donations still relies on family-replacement donors rather than voluntary donations.
Objective: This study examines changes in knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to blood donation among Palestinians from 2022 to 2025, aiming to guide strategies for a sustainable voluntary donation system.

The source area of the Yangtze River (SAYR), part of the Tibetan Plateau, is an ecologically fragile alpine region sensitive to climate change. Current research has predominantly examined hydrological and ecological responses as isolated systems, failing to address the coupled mechanisms through which permafrost degradation mediates water-carbon interactions. In this study, we used a fully coupled eco-hydrological model that integrates permafrost processes, along with multi-source remote sensing data, experimental monitoring, and machine learning, to quantify the water retention and carbon sequestration capacity over the past 20 years.

Microplastic (MP) pollution has emerged as a growing concern in remote mountainous ecosystems, yet its presence, transport, and ecological implications in the Himalaya remain significantly underexplored. This review synthesizes current research on MP contamination across multiple environmental compartments including atmosphere, snow and ice, surface water, and emerging subsurface domains in the high-altitude Himalayan region. Key pathways of MP input include long-range atmospheric deposition, cryospheric meltwater, and surface runoff, while shallow groundwater systems are identified as a critical but poorly understood sink.

External outflow graft obstruction (eOGO) is an increasingly recognized long-term complication in patients with HeartMate 3 left ventricular assist devices. While percutaneous treatment provides a less invasive alternative to surgery, it introduces the challenge of stenosis migration-especially when graft twist is a contributing factor. This migration can extend to the edge or even beyond the Bend Relief toward the aortic or pump anastomosis, posing procedural risks in fragile anatomical zones.

Malania oleifera is a nationally Category II protected wild plant in China and a Vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List, specifically distributed in the karst forest, playing a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and ecological balance in karst fragile ecosystems.
