Early-life nutrition fundamentally influences newborn development and health. Here, we present a protocol for nutritional intervention in neonatal rats using the "pup-in-a-cup" artificial rearing system. We describe steps for rat milk substitute preparation, cheek cannulation and maintenance, and nutritional manipulation during the suckling period. This protocol enables investigation into the role of nutritional factors in newborns by artificially rearing rats away from the mother with experimental diets starting at postnatal day 4 for up to 18 days. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Wang et al., Choudhary et al., and Mu et al..

Increased adiposity and chronic psychosocial stress (CPS) are plausible modifiable contributors of the recent increase in early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC). We conducted an 8-week randomized controlled pilot trial evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of time restricted eating (TRE) (daily ad libitum eating between 12-8pm) and Mindfulness ("Mindfulness for Beginners" course from the Calm app) among young adults. Participants were randomized to the following groups: TRE ( = 10); Mindfulness ( = 11); TRE & Mindfulness ( = 11); or Control ( = 11).

Purpose: NOTCH3 is increasingly implicated for its oncogenic role in many malignancies, including meningiomas. While prior work has linked NOTCH3 expression to higher-grade meningiomas and treatment resistance, the metabolic phenotype of NOTCH3 activation remains unexplored in meningioma.
Methods: We performed single-cell RNA sequencing on NOTCH3 + human meningioma cell lines.

To evaluate whether age modifies the association between the geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) and overall survival (OS) in patients aged ≥ 18 years with newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), we conducted a multi-centre retrospective study of 552 patients. Multivariable Cox regression with restricted cubic spline (RCS) modelling showed that GNRI was significantly associated with OS, but the relationship was non-linear (P for non-linearity = 0.0158).

Aims/hypothesis: Severe hypoglycaemia events (SHE) remain frequent in people with type 1 diabetes despite advanced diabetes technologies. We examined whether time below range (TBR) 3.9 mmol/l (70 mg/dl; TBR70) or 3.

Purpose: There is limited evidence to guide the use of enteral nutrition (EN) for children with bronchiolitis who received Humidified high flow nasal cannula (HHFNC) and often kept nil per mouth for aspiration and progression to mechanical ventilation risk.
Methods: This quality improvement project included children with bronchiolitis who were supported by HHFNC in the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU). An algorithm to increase EN use in those participants was created by stakeholders.
