Rice is an important cereal crop worldwide, the growth of which is affected by rice blast disease, caused by the fungal pathogen . As climate change increases the diversity of pathogens, the disease resistance genes ( genes) in plants must be identified. The major blast-resistance genes have been identified in rice varieties; therefore, rice varieties with genes now need to be identified. Because leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain proteins possess -gene properties, we used bioinformatics analysis to identify the rice candidate LRR domain receptor-like proteins (OsLRR-RLPs). , which contains six LRR domains, showed differences in the DNA sequence, containing 43 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in and subpopulations. The results of the inoculation analysis indicated that varieties with partial deletion of showed susceptibility, whereas varieties with intact showed resistance. The mutant, generated using clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9), showed increased pathogen susceptibility, whereas plants overexpressing this gene showed pathogen resistance. These results indicate that confers resistance to rice, and may be useful for breeding resistant cultivars.

The ability of parasitoid wasps to precisely locate hosts in complex environments is a key factor in suppressing pest populations. Chemical communication plays an essential role in mediating insect behaviors such as locating food sources, hosts, and mates. Odorant receptors (ORs) are the key connection between external odors and olfactory nerves.

Salt stress impairs photosynthetic efficiency and consequently reduces the growth, development, and grain yield of crop plants. The formation of hydrophobic barriers in the root endodermis, including the suberin lamellae and Casparian strips, is a key adaptive strategy for salt stress tolerance. In this study, we identified the role of the rice NAC transcription factor, ONAC005, in salt stress tolerance.

High rates of mortality of the common cockle, , have occurred in the Wash Estuary, UK, since 2008. A previous study linked the mortalities to a novel genotype of , with a strong correlation between cockle moribundity and the presence of . Here, we characterize a novel iridovirus, identified by chance during metagenomic sequencing of a gradient purification of cells, with the presence also correlated to cockle moribundity.

Problem: Preeclampsia (PE) is a leading cause of perinatal maternal and fetal mortality. Clinical and pathological studies suggest that placental and decidual cell dysfunction may contribute to this condition. However, the pathogenesis of PE remains poorly understood.

Objective: To explore B cell infiltration-related genes in endometriosis (EM) and investigate their potential as diagnostic biomarkers.
Methods: Gene expression data from the GSE51981 dataset, containing 77 endometriosis and 34 control samples, were analyzed to detect differentially expressed genes (DEGs). The xCell algorithm was applied to estimate the infiltration levels of 64 immune and stromal cell types, focusing on B cells and naive B cells.
