In this study, employing a 2D electrodeposition in situ assembly method, a high-performance HS sensor based on a p-n type CuO-CuFeO heterostructure ordered nanowire arrays was successfully fabricated on silicon substrates. Compared to CuO, CuO-CuFeO nanowire arrays exhibits an ideal interfacial barrier structure and higher initial resistance, with a response to 10 ppm of HS at room temperature (20 ± 3 °C) increased by 225 times and a response time reduced by over 2400 s. The sensor demonstrates exceptional sensitivity (LOD = 10 ppb; response = 234.

The hallmarks of mechanosensitive ion channels have been observed for half a century in various cell lines, although their mechanisms and molecular identities remained unknown until recently. Identification of the bona fide mammalian mechanosensory Piezo channels resulted in an explosion of research exploring the translation of mechanical cues into biochemical signals and dynamic cell morphology responses. One of the Piezo isoforms - Piezo1 - is integral in the erythrocyte (red blood cell; RBC) membrane.

Cicada rib-inspired tough films through nanoconfined crystallization for use in acoustic transducers.

Sci Adv

September 2025

State Key Laboratory of Bioinspired Interfacial Materials Science, School of Nano Science and Technology, Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China, Suzhou 215123, P. R. China.

Acoustic transducers require films that demonstrate both toughness and fatigue resistance, presenting notable challenges when achieved through conventional nanoscale reinforcing strategies. Here, we found that the rib structure of a cicada's tymbal exhibits exceptional toughness and fatigue resistance, attributed to its unique architecture composed of alternating soft and stiff polymer layers. Inspired by this rib structure, we developed a robust artificial rib film (ARF) using a nanoconfined crystallization strategy that involves the deposition of soft polyethylene oxide and stiff phenol formaldehyde.

B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA)-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies have revolutionized the approach and management of relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), and as of 2025, idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) and ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) are the only BCMA-targeted CAR T-cell therapies approved by the FDA. Exceptional responses were demonstrated for heavily pretreated patients in the KarMMa-1 trial, reporting a 73% overall response rate (ORR) and 98% in the CARTITUDE-1 trial. Furthermore, both therapies show a significant improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) compared to standard regimens when administered in earlier lines.

Optically Controlled Memristor Enabling Synergistic Sensing-Memory-Computing for Neuromorphic Vision Systems.

Adv Mater

September 2025

Key Laboratory of Brain-Like Neuromorphic Devices and Systems of Hebei Province, College of Electronic and Information Engineering, Hebei University, Baoding, 071002, China.

Neuromorphic Visual Devices hold considerable promise for integration into neuromorphic vision systems that combine sensing, memory, and computing. This potential arises from their synergistic benefits in optical signal detection and neuro-inspired computational processes. However, current devices face challenges such as insufficient light/dark resistance ratios, mismatched transient photo-response, and volatile retention characteristics, limiting their adaptability to complex artificial vision systems.
