Phase-shift droplets undergoing acoustic droplet vaporization (ADV) offer a promising approach for ultrasound-mediated drug delivery, enabling the spatiotemporally controlled release of therapeutic payloads. A comprehensive understanding of their behavior, through both optical and acoustic methods, is essential for optimizing the therapeutic efficacy. In this study, we investigated the effects of driving pressure, pulse duration, and bulk boiling point of perfluorocarbon droplets on ADV dynamics, payload release, and acoustic emissions.

This study presents a novel application of a Probabilistic Bayesian Neural Network (PBNN) for estimating vocal function variables and enhancing non-invasive ambulatory voice monitoring by addressing aleatoric and epistemic uncertainties in regression tasks. The proposed PBNN allows for estimating key physiological parameters including subglottal pressure, vocal fold contact pressure, thyroarytenoid, and cricothyroid muscle activations, from seven aerodynamic and acoustic features. The PBNN is trained on the Triangular Body-Cover Model (TBCM) of the vocal folds to produce a non-linear inverse mapping between its inputs and outputs.

High-power giant magnetostrictive underwater transducers are integral to underwater active sonar detection systems due to their high energy density, rapid dynamic response, and significant output force. However, these transducers exhibit complex nonlinear dynamic hysteresis behavior, which is influenced by the coupling of electric, magnetic, mechanical, and acoustic fields. This complexity presents considerable challenges in accurately characterizing their output properties.

The deconvolved beamforming (dCv) improves spatial resolution without expanding the array aperture but fails for the shift-variant beam pattern and the real targets, which are not located on the sampling grids. To solve them, this Letter extends the off-grid sparse Bayesian learning (OGSBL) to dCv because the generalized convolutional model considers the beam pattern at each angle in beam domain. OGSBL reduces modeling errors by parameterizing sampled locations in coarse grids.

A ventral tectal longitudinal column (TLCv) has been described in rats and is hypothesized to provide multisensory modulation of acoustic processing in the superior olivary complex. The TLCv is a column of cells in the dorsomedial tectum extending rostro-caudally through the inferior and superior colliculi. It receives ascending auditory input and projects to the superior olivary complex.
