A new polysaccharide (AAP) was extracted from by water extraction and alcohol precipitation. The antioxidant activity showed that AAP had a good scavenging effect on ABTS free radicals. Then AAP was purified by DEAE-52 ion exchange chromatography to obtain the purified component pAAP. The structure analysis showed that the molecular weight (Mw) of pAAP was 96.768 kDa, which was composed of rhamnose (Rha), arabinose (Ara), fucose (Fuc), xylose (Xyl), mannose (Man), glucose (Glu) and galactose (Gal), with the ratio of 0.1:0.157:0.33:2.797:2.881:2.988:0.587, and contained α-pyranose configuration and β-pyranose configuration. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy revealed the special conformation of pAAP in the ring and chain shape.

Background: Acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding (AUGIB) is a critical medical emergency and is a common cause of illness and death in individuals with liver cirrhosis.
Objective: The point of this study was to check how well the albumin-to-bilirubin ratio (ALBI) and model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) scores could predict how these patients would do in the future.
Methods: The Imam Khomeini Hospital gastroenterology department conducted a retrospective examination.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by impairments in motor control following the degeneration of dopamine-producing neurons located in the substantia nigra pars compacta. Environmental pesticides such as Paraquat (PQ) and Maneb (MB) contribute to the onset of PD by inducing oxidative stress (OS). This study evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of moderate physical activity (PA) on both motor and non-motor symptoms in a Wistar rat model of Paraquat and Maneb (PQ/MB) induced PD.

Pea shoots (Pisum sativum) are well known to have nutritional benefits when consumed raw; however, the effects of home cooking on their bioactive compounds remain unclear. Therefore, we investigated how different cooking methods affect the antioxidant activity and stability of antioxidants. Our evaluation revealed that antioxidant activity is preserved by steaming but significantly reduced by microwaving and boiling, which also causes weight loss during cooking.
