Article Abstract

The online coupling of size exclusion chromatography (SEC) to capillary enhanced Raman spectroscopy (CERS) based on a liquid core waveguide (LCW) flow cell was applied for the first time to assess the higher-order structure of different proteins. This setup allows recording of Raman spectra of the monomeric protein within complex mixtures, since SEC enables the separation of the monomeric protein from matrix components such as excipients of a biopharmaceutical product and higher molecular weight species (e.g., aggregates). The acquired Raman spectra were used for structural elucidation of well characterized proteins such as bovine serum albumin, hen egg white lysozyme, and β-lactoglobulin and of the monoclonal antibody rituximab in a medicinal product. Additionally, the CERS detection of the disaccharide sucrose, which is used as a stabilizing excipient, was quantified to achieve a limit of detection (LOD) of 120 μg and a limit of quantification (LOQ) of 363 μg injected on the column.

Assessing the knowledge of sports medicine physicians on idiopathic scoliosis: a national survey.

Eur Spine J

September 2025

Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Sports Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey.

Background: Sports medicine physicians, like pediatricians and family physicians, are among the professionals who have the opportunity to assess healthy adolescents and conduct pre-participation evaluations. They can play a critical role in the early diagnosis of scoliosis and in ensuring that patients remain physically active and participate in sports activities. This study aims to evaluate the frequency of scoliosis assessment and the knowledge of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) among sports medicine physicians in Türkiye.

Purpose: Children with B-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) treated in resource-intensive settings have a high likelihood of cure, but therapy is long, burdensome, and associated with substantial toxicities. Understanding parents' perceptions of the most disruptive and difficult aspects of B-ALL treatment is critical to future improvements in care. We aimed to understand which child side effects, chemotherapeutic agents, and aspects of leukemia care are rated difficult or disruptive by parents, and variations based on parent or child characteristics.

Relationship between family protective factors and codependency in nurses: A cross-sectional study.

Arch Psychiatr Nurs

October 2025

Department of Psychiatric Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Akdeniz University, Antalya, Türkiye. Electronic address:

Objective: The phenomenon of codependency, characterized by pathological relational patterns, is widely prevalent among nurses. It is believed to develop in dysfunctional family systems. This study aims to investigate the level of codependency among nurses by examining its relationship with family protective factors and personal characteristics.

In this article, a novel online adaptive control scheme is developed for the optimal control issues of integrated electric-gas systems with partially unknown dynamics, by combining the decentralized event-triggered mechanism and adaptive dynamic programming techniques. Initially, the complex electric-gas coupling network is modeled in the state-space form. By virtue of neural networks (NNs), the NN-based identifier and the critic NN are designed to approximate the unknown drift dynamic and the optimal value function in an online fashion, respectively.

Background: Digital media frequently contains positive portrayals of alcohol content, which has been shown to be associated with alcohol-related cognitions and behaviors. Because youth are heavy media consumers and have access to unsupervised, repeat viewing of media content on their personal mobile devices, it is critical to understand the frequency of encountering alcohol content in adolescents' daily lives and how adolescents engage with the content.

Objective: This paper outlines the study protocol for examining adolescents' exposure to alcohol-related content in digital media within their natural environments.
