Species occurrence data are foundational for research, conservation, and science communication, but the limited availability and accessibility of reliable data represents a major obstacle, particularly for insects, which face mounting pressures. We present BeeBDC, a new R package, and a global bee occurrence dataset to address this issue. We combined >18.3 million bee occurrence records from multiple public repositories (GBIF, SCAN, iDigBio, USGS, ALA) and smaller datasets, then standardised, flagged, deduplicated, and cleaned the data using the reproducible BeeBDC R-workflow. Specifically, we harmonised species names (following established global taxonomy), country names, and collection dates and, we added record-level flags for a series of potential quality issues. These data are provided in two formats, "cleaned" and "flagged-but-uncleaned". The BeeBDC package with online documentation provides end users the ability to modify filtering parameters to address their research questions. By publishing reproducible R workflows and globally cleaned datasets, we can increase the accessibility and reliability of downstream analyses. This workflow can be implemented for other taxa to support research and conservation.

Infectious bursal disease (IBD), caused by the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), significantly threatens global poultry health by inducing immunosuppression and causing economic losses. To enhance vaccination efficacy, we engineered a transgenic strain of Eimeria acervulina (Ea-2C3d) expressing a fusion protein composed of IBDV VP2 and three tandem C3d segments (3C3d), utilizing C3d's adjuvant properties to boost immune responses. However, in rarer instances, these stings can lead to severe and potentially fatal outcomes, including ischemic or hemorrhagic cerebral events. Honey bee health is increasingly threatened worldwide by a complex and evolving viral landscape; however, this aspect in Central Asia remains understudied despite the region being strategically positioned along historic and modern trade routes. In 2024, we conducted a nationwide virome survey of Apis mellifera across 32 cities in 11 regions of Uzbekistan, combining the metagenomic data of 14 pooled RNA-seq libraries with RT-PCR validation and phylogenetic analyses. High-quality sequencing yielded an average of approximately 60 million reads per pool.

: This study aimed to investigate how sarcopenia and nutritional risk influence all-cause mortality among older individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. : In view of the presence of sarcopenia, defined according to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) criteria, and nutritional risk, as determined by the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), a total of 396 participants were divided into four distinct groups (group 1: no nutritional risk and no sarcopenia, = 306; group 2: nutritional risk and no sarcopenia, = 32; group 3: no nutritional risk and sarcopenia, = 36; and group 4: nutritional risk and sarcopenia, = 22). Mortality risk was assessed through time-to-event analysis using Cox regression.
