Introduction Episodes of apnoea are common in extremely preterm infants and usually treated with caffeine and respiratory support. Understanding differences in apnoea definitions, monitoring practices, and use of respiratory stimulants is essential to improve future treatment. Methods Between March and July 2024, one lead consultant at European tertiary neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) was invited to complete to a web-based survey on respiratory practices in extremely preterm infants.

In order to understand Bray-Liebhafsky oscillator two conceptual approaches are compared. One is based on obtaining good numerical simulations without taking into concern inexorable scientific constraints, and the other is focused on understanding energy flow through the system as a cause of the oscillatory behaviour. Although modeling based on "energetic" principles will not be easier, it will define a more unique direction for investigations since energy and its changes are fundamental parameters defining the dynamics of any system.

We thank the authors for their insightful commentary on our manuscript, "Acute Enteritis with Pelvic SBRT: Influence of Bowel Delineation Methods." In this response, we clarify our methodological decision to focus exclusively on acute enteritis and to exclude proctitis. We highlight the distinct clinical profiles of proctitis and enteritis, emphasizing the importance of careful history taking and clinical evaluation.

In this reply, we address the concerns raised regarding the theoretical consistency of the modeling approaches used in our original study on hydrogen sulfide adsorption onto ZSM-5. Specifically, the issues relate to the application of the Temkin isotherm, the Weber-Morris intraparticle diffusion model, and the use of a dimensional distribution coefficient in the thermodynamic analysis. We acknowledge that the simplified Temkin model was misapplied and does not strictly conform to theoretical requirements; however, it was used to represent mid-range adsorption behavior consistent with our experimental conditions.
