Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), a laser-based technology for environmental perception, finds extensive applications in intelligent transportation. Deployed on roadsides, it provides real-time global traffic data, supporting road safety and research. To overcome accuracy issues arising from sensor misalignment and to facilitate multi-sensor fusion, this paper proposes an adaptive calibration method. The method defines an ideal coordinate system with the road's forward direction as the X-axis and the intersection line between the vertical plane of the X-axis and the road surface plane as the Y-axis. This method utilizes the Kalman filter (KF) for trajectory smoothing and employs the random sample consensus (RANSAC) algorithm for ground fitting, obtaining the projection of the ideal coordinate system within the LiDAR system coordinate system. By comparing the two coordinate systems and calculating Euler angles, the point cloud is angle-calibrated using rotation matrices. Based on measured data from roadside LiDAR, this paper validates the calibration method. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves high precision, with calculated Euler angle errors consistently below 1.7%.

Background: Little is documented on key community-based One Health (OH) approach implementation, pro-activeness and effectiveness of interactions and strategies against Mpox outbreak public health emergency in international concern (PHEIC) in various African countries in order to stamp out the persisting Mpox outbreak threat and burden. Prioritizing critical community-based interventions and lessons learned from previous COVID-19, Mpox, Ebola, COVID-19, Rift Valley Fever and Marburg virus outbreaks revealed critical shortcomings in funding, surveillance, and community engagement that plague public health initiatives across the continent. The article provides critical insights and benefits of community-based One Health approaches implementation against Mpox outbreak management in Africa.

The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in conventional zinc-air batteries (ZABs) involves a complex multielectron transfer process, leading to slow reaction kinetics, high charging voltage, and low energy efficiency. To address these limitations, a zinc-ethanol/air battery (ZEAB) system that strategically replaces the OER with the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) possessing a lower thermodynamic potential has been proposed. Herein, a bimetallic catalyst CuCo-embedded nitrogen-doped carbon (CuCo-20%-1), derived from a Cu/Co/Cd co-coordinated metal-organic precursor, is synthesized and exhibits an excellent performance for both EOR and ORR.

The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a pivotal role in cancer progression, though the molecular regulators governing its immunosuppressive properties remain incompletely characterized. In this study, we identify Makorin-2 (MKRN2) as a novel modulator of TME remodeling through integrated analyses of genetically engineered mouse models and human clinical data. Utilizing MKRN2 knockout mice, we observed significantly accelerated tumor growth compared to wild-type control, which was associated with profound alterations in immune cell composition, especially M2 macrophages.

Background: Currently, most researchers apply pollen extracts or -suspensions to assess the effects of pollen exposure on airway epithelia. How respiratory epithelia respond to pollen aerosols is not well studied because standardised methods to aerosolize pollen were not available until recently.
Aim Of Study: To develop and test a near-natural exposure model for pollen grains based on differentiated human nasal epithelial cells and a novel particle aerosoliser.

Conventional medical care structures are often insufficiently adapted to the needs of this patient group. In this project, the rehabilitative care gap is practically closed with a social space-oriented rehabilitation concept for people with cognitive and/or multiple Impairments and to create sustainable solutions.
