Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the ocular dimensions of the anterior and posterior segment, including the anterior scleral thickness (AST) in nanophthalmos compared to control eyes.
Methods: A cross-sectional comparative study was carried out in two groups: 46 eyes of 28 patients with nanophthalmos, defined as axial length (AXL) < 20.5 mm, and 60 eyes of 30 controls paired by age and sex. The AST and ocular wall thickness (OWT) were measured by optical coherence tomography in the temporal and nasal quadrants at 1, 2, and 3 mm from the scleral spur. Also, the anterior chamber depth (ACD), white-to-white (WTW), lens thickness (LT), subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), and retinal thickness (RT) were evaluated.
Results: The mean AXL was 19.3 ± 1.5 mm in the nanophthalmos group and 23.9 ± 1.1 mm in the control group ( < 0.001). The OWT was thicker in all measurement points in nanophthalmos ( < 0.001). There were no differences in the AST measurements between groups, except for the AST1 and the AST3 in the nasal quadrant. ACD was shallower and LT was thicker in nanophthalmos, with WTW being larger in controls ( < 0.001). SFCT and RT were thicker in nanophthalmos compared to healthy individuals ( < 0.001).
Conclusions: Significant anatomical differences are found in nanophthalmic eyes. They present a shallower ACD; thicker LT, OWT, choroid, and retina; and smaller WTW diameter-although no relevant differences in the AST were observed.

Sclera biomechanics play an important role in clear vision. Understanding the biomechanical, composition and ultrastructural topography of the sclera may help provide better insight into eye health. Purpose: Seasonal Hyperacute Panuveitis (SHAPU) is a severe, rapid-onset panuveitis primarily affecting children, often linked to the setae released in the air or by contact with female moths of the genus Gazalina (Lepidoptera, Notodontidae), or with their egg masses laid on various substrates. This study aims to report a rare case of SHAPU from the higher altitude of Nepal with an alpine climate, with concurrence of necrotising scleritis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of SHAPU at high elevation.

Cellular imaging of the human anterior eye is critical for understanding complex ophthalmic diseases, yet current techniques are constrained by a limited field of view or insufficient contrast. Here, we demonstrate that Ernst Abbe's foundational principles on the interference nature of transmission microscopy can be applied in vivo to the human eye to overcome these limitations. The transmission geometry in the eye is achieved by projecting illumination onto the posterior eye (sclera) and using the back-reflected light as a secondary illumination source for anterior eye structures.

Materials And Methods: This single-center, retrospective case-series included 49 eyes of 34 patients who underwent scleral lens fitting for visual acuity improvement from February 2018 to 2023. All patients underwent Orbscan/Pentacam corneal topography before a complete ophthalmological exam.
