Article Abstract

Three novel Co-based coordination polymers including {[Co(L)(μ-O)]} (1), {[Co(L)(bimb)]} (2) and {[Co(L)(bimmb)]} (3) (HL = 2,6-di(4-carboxylphenyl)-4-(4-(triazol-1-ylphenyl))pyridine), bimb = 1,4-bis(lmidazol) butane, bimmb = 1,4-bis(imidazole-1-ylmethyl)benzene) were successfully prepared under solvothermal conditions and characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that 1 possesses a 3D architecture composed of a trinuclear cluster [CoN(CO)(μ-O)], 2 exhibits a 2D new topological framework with the point symbol (8·12)(8), whereas 3 shows a unique six-fold interpenetrated 3D framework with a (6·8·10)(6)(8) topology. Impressively, all of them can function as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor for the biomarker methylmalonic acid (MMA) via fluorescence quenching. The low detection limit, reusability and high anti-interference performance together make 1-3 become promising sensors for the practical detection of MMA. Furthermore, the successful application of MMA detection in urine sample was demonstrated, which may be a potential candidate for the further development of clinical diagnostic tools.

Mitochondrial dysfunction is increasingly recognized as a driver of sarcopenia pathogenesis, progression, and prognosis. Muscle mass is a fundamental and objective component of sarcopenia. In some studies, relative muscle loss has been used to define sarcopenia.

Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are widely prescribed medications that have been linked to vitamin B12 deficiency. However, due to methodological differences between studies and the diagnostic inaccuracies of vitamin B12 assessment methods used, results are conflicting. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the association between chronic (>6 months) PPI use and vitamin B12 deficiency by assessing two biomarkers of vitamin B12 status: serum vitamin B12 and total homocysteine levels.

Background: The exact pathophysiologic mechanism of environmental toxic metals (particularly lead and cadmium)-associated cardiovascular events remains poorly understood.

Objectives: The authors assessed the impacts of lead and cadmium on myocardial injury and stress and further explored their roles in the risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality.

Methods: We included participants with studied measurements from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between 1999 and 2004, followed up to 2019.

Introduction: Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) is an emerging biomarker of neuronal damage in various neurological disorders. Methylmalonic acid (MMA) serves as a biomarker for mitochondrial dysfunction. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between MMA and sNfL.

Buffalo reproductive performance is frequently compromised by postpartum anestrus and repeat breeding, yet the underlying metabolic mechanisms remain largely uncharacterized. This study aimed to identify serum metabolomic differences among four reproductive status groups, smooth inactive ovaries (SIO), repeat breeders (RB), normal cyclic, and pregnant buffalo under thermal-neutral conditions. Twenty-eight adult healthy buffalo cows (4-6 years old, 400-500 kg) were classified by reproductive status using transrectal ultrasonography and rectal palpation.
