A novel bacterial strain, SM-13 was isolated from the rhizospheric soil of Epipremnum aureum (Jade Pothos) sampled in Suwon, Republic of Korea. The isolate was Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped, cream-coloured, oxidase- and catalase-positive. Strain SM-13 grew at the range of 15-37 °C (optimum, 25 °C), at pH 6.

Unlabelled: There is a considerable interest in the association between and colorectal cancer (CRC). Recently, it was suggested that this association is valid only for a distinct clade of ( C2) and that strains belonging to another clade ( C1) are only associated with the oral cavity. Kinases are activators of well‑known inflammatory cascades implicated in metabolic disorders, and abnormal activation of casein kinase II (CK2) is associated with several inflammatory disorders. However, thus far, its role in the low‑grade chronic inflammatory response known as 'metaflammation', which is a hallmark of obesity and type 2 diabetes, has not yet been elucidated. The present study aimed to evaluate the role of CK2 in diet‑induced metaflammation and the effects of the CK2 inhibitor 4,5,6,7‑tetrabromobenzotriazole (TBB) on a murine model fed a high‑fat‑high‑sugar (HFHS) diet.

Follicular dendritic cell sarcoma (FDCS) is a rare tumour derived from dendritic cells located in B-follicles that play a pivotal role in the adaptive immune response. Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for localized disease; however, the management of unresectable or advanced disease is less well-defined. To date, to the best of our knowledge, there is no established or preferred chemotherapeutic regimen, although a number of regimens (primarily used in lymphomas and sarcomas) have been utilized with suboptimal outcomes.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), a type of diabetes mellitus occurring in pregnant women, increases the risk of birth trauma. Solute carrier family 2 member 4 (SLC2A4) polymorphism is notably associated with GDM susceptibility; however, the mechanism is unknown. In the present study, HTR-8/SVneo cells were treated with high glucose concentrations and transfected with SLC2A4 and Forkhead box O (FoxO)1 to investigate their roles in the insulin (INS) resistance of GDM trophoblast cells.
