Article Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the generation of a circular polarization detector based on planar polarization holography. The detector is designed by constructing the interference field according to the null reconstruction effect. We create multiplexed holograms, which feature the combination of two sets of hologram patterns and operate with opposite circular polarization beams. In a few seconds, the exposure operation allows the polarization multiplexed hologram element to be generated, with functionality equivalent to a chiral hologram. We have theoretically analyzed the feasibility of our scheme and experimentally demonstrated that the right- and left-handed circularly polarized beam can be distinguished directly depending on the different output signals. This work provides a time-saving and cost-effective alternative approach for generating a circular polarization detector and opens avenues for future applications in polarization detection.

Nifurtimox (NFX) is a chiral drug used for the treatment of Chagas Disease. Little attention has been paid to the enantioselective properties of chiral drugs used for neglected tropical diseases, highlighting the need for further studies in this area. In this work, the enantioselective properties of NFX were carefully investigated by HPLC using different chiral stationary phases (CSPs) and chromatographic modes.

Polariton Spin Separation and Propagation by Rashba-Dresselhaus Spin-Orbit Coupling in an Anisotropic Two-Dimensional Perovskite Microcavity.

Nano Lett

Key Laboratory of Micro & Nano Photonic Structures, Department of Optical Science and Engineering, College of Future Information Technology, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China.

The separation and propagation of spin are vital to understanding spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in quantum systems. Exciton-polaritons, hybrid light-matter quasiparticles, offer a promising platform for investigating SOC in quantum fluids. By utilization of the optical anisotropy of materials, Rashba-Dresselhaus SOC (RDSOC) can be generated, enabling robust polariton spin transport.

Significance: Tumor tissues exhibit contrast with healthy tissue in circular degree of polarization (DOP) images via higher magnitude circular DOP values and increased helicity-flipping. This phenomenon may enable polarimetric tumor detection and surgical/procedural guidance applications.

Aim: Depolarization metrics have been shown to exhibit differential responses to healthy and cancer tissue, whereby tumor tissues tend to induce less depolarization; however, the understanding of this depolarization-based contrast remains limited.

To contribute to the circular and sustainable economy framework, waste tire rubber reclamation by extracting carbon black through pyrolysis and heat treatment and then ingeniously designing it as an electromagnetic wave absorbing (EWA) material is proposed herein. The results showed that the pyrolysis-recycled carbon black (RCB) was heterogeneous with multiple interfaces, making it suitable for EWA application. The RCB was processed at 500 °C-1000 °C to study the changes in the composite and microstructure as well as the EWA properties.

Helically ordered chiral super spaces enable optical chirality in hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite crystals.

J Colloid Interface Sci

September 2025

Department of Advanced Materials Engineering for Information & Electronics, Kyung Hee University, Gyeonggi-do 17104, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

We present a supramolecular templating strategy for inducing chirality in hybrid perovskites via confined crystallization within chiral super spaces-nanoconfined, helically ordered cavities formed by the self-assembly of achiral bent-core molecules with chiral additives. Upon removal of the additives, the resulting porous films retain permanent chirality. Quasi-2D hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites crystallized within these templates exhibit distinct chiroptical activity, including mirror-image circular dichroism and circularly polarized light emitting (CPLE), with CPLE dissymmetry factors reaching up to 1.
