Cultural identity and the societal context of mental health issues play an important part in the decision to seek help Chan et al (Stigma Health 3:283-93, 2018). Both acculturation or the cultural socialization to mainstream culture by ethnic and racial minorities Sun et al (J Couns Psychol 63:617-32, 2016), and enculturation, or the retention of one's culture of origin, influence a person's perceptions of mental health care and willingness to seek help when needed. Indeed, a range of studies have shown varying levels of help-seeking behaviors between cultural groups linked to identification with dominant or nondominant cultures Seamark D, and Gabriel L (Br J Guid Couns 46:120-31, 2018).

Previous literature showed that mental health conditions and substance use are prevalent in international migrant workers due to acculturation stress. Given the rapid increase in labour migration within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, this study aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of the pooled prevalence of mental health conditions and substance use among international migrant workers in ASEAN countries and to identify associated factors. We searched MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus, and ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) for articles published in English between January 2010 and October 2023.

The combination of discrimination and cultural-contextual stressors associated with acculturation demands and immigration processes cause stressful conditions for Latinos above and beyond daily, stressful life events experienced in families. This in turn, can have repercussions on parent-child relationships and family dynamics. We hypothesized that acculturative and general family stress would be associated with increased parental depression, which would negatively affect family cohesion and parents, and that these disruptions would predict children's internalizing symptoms.

Despite the growing number of older adults engaging in voluntary migration, there is a lack of knowledge about their psychological well-being in cross-cultural contexts. This cross-sectional study investigated factors associated with psychological well-being among older Chinese migrants residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Between December 2024 and February 2025, 204 Chinese migrants aged 60 and above who had resided in Chiang Mai for at least six months participated in a survey in Chinese.
