The strategic utilization of hazardous particulate waste in eliminating environmental pollution is an important research hotspot. Herein, abundantly available hazardous solid collagenic waste of leather industry is converted into stable hybrid nanobiocomposite (HNP@SWDC) comprising magnetic hematite nanoparticles (HNP) and solid waste derived collagen (SWDC) via co-precipitation method. The structural, spectroscopic, surface, thermal, and magnetic properties; fluorescence quenching; dye selectivity; and adsorption are explored via microstructural analyzes of HNP@SWDC and dye adsorbed-HNP@SWDC using H nuclear magnetic resonance, Raman, ultraviolet-visible, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron, and fluorescence spectroscopies; thermogravimetry; field-emission scanning electron microscopy; and vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM). The intimate interaction of SWDC with HNP and elevated magnetic properties of HNP@SWDC are apprehended via amide-imidol tautomerism associated nonconventional hydrogen bondings, disappearance of goethite specific -OH def. in HNP@SWDC, and VSM. The as-fabricated reusable HNP@SWDC is employed for removing methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB). Chemisorption of RhB/MB in HNP@SWDC via ionic, electrostatic, and hydrogen bonding interactions alongside dimerization of dyes are realized by ultraviolet-visible, FTIR, and fluorescence studies; pseudosecond order fitting; and activation energies. The adsorption capacity = 46.98-56.14/22.89-27.57 mg g for RhB/MB is noted using 0.01 g HNP@SWDC within 5-20 ppm dyes and 288-318 K.

As the weed Echinochloa phyllopogon has rapidly developed multi- and cross-resistance to several herbicides, we aimed to determine the mechanism underlying penoxsulam resistance in weeds. There was no target mutation in the tested population, and P450 enzyme activity was significantly higher in the penoxsulam-treated resistant population, confirming that non-target-site resistance was dominant. The antioxidant enzyme activity of the resistant population was higher than that of the sensitive population following the application of the penoxsulam and cleared HO faster.

The production of phosphogypsum (PG), calcium carbide slag (CS), and red mud (RM) in global industrial development imposes serious environmental issues. Utilizing CS and PG as curing agents and incorporating RM as a soil substitute can facilitate the solid waste resource utilization. However, few studies have investigated the synergistic effects of PG and CS on the stabilization of RM and soil.

In order to promote the development and application of low-carbon cement varieties and the recycling of industrial solid waste, this study used iron tailings and fluorogypsum to prepare iron-rich belite-sulfoaluminate cement (I-BCSA). The suitable conditions for the preparation of I-BCSA in this system were with an excessive addition of 6 wt% of SO in the raw meal, at a calcination temperature of 1250 °C for 1.5 h, and an added-gypsum content of 15 wt%.

The disposal of municipal solid waste incineration fly ashes (MSWI-FA) is complicated by soluble chlorides, which increase the risk of heavy metals (HMs) leaching toxicity and hinder the further use of remediated MSWI-FA. In this study, the self-assembly potentiality of magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) in geopolymerization was explored and utilized to enhance the solidification/stabilization (S/S) of the MSWI-FA. The MOC-self-assembled geopolymerization kinetics can be suitably described by the JMAK model.

Uranium dioxide (UO) particles can be released from mines, nuclear fuel manufacturing, reactor accidents, and weapons use. They pose inhalation risks, yet their behavior in the human lung remains poorly understood. This study investigates the long-term chemical alteration and dissolution of µm-sized UO particles in two model lung fluids: Simulated Lung Fluid (SLF) and Artificial Lysosomal Fluid (ALF), representing extracellular and intracellular lung environments, respectively.
