This study aimed to analyze the actigraphy-based sleep parameters in wheelchair basketball (WB) athletes during the 3 weeks leading up to the playoffs, the week of playoffs, and the week after playoffs. Secondarily, the relationship between training load, sleep, and recovery was evaluated. During 5 consecutive weeks, 10 male elite WB athletes wore a triaxial accelerometer. The session rating of perceived exertion (sRPE) and athletes' quality of recovery were also measured. There were no significant differences ( > 0.05) in any of the studied parameters between the 3 weeks leading up to the playoffs, the week of playoffs, and the week after playoffs. No significant relationship between training load, sleep parameters, and recovery values was detected. The WB competition does not affect sleep quantity and quality.

Purpose: To evaluate whether cumulative impact load and serum biomarkers are related to lower-extremity injury and to determine any impact load and cartilage biomarker relationships in collegiate female basketball athletes.
Methods: This was a prospective longitudinal study evaluating lower-extremity impact load, serum cartilage biomarkers, and injury incidence over the course of a single collegiate women's basketball season. Data were collected from August 2022 to April 2023; no other follow-up after the cessation of the season was conducted in this cohort.

Background Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many professional sports leagues such as the National Hockey League (NHL) made significant changes to their schedules and operating procedures. Changes included a modified 2019-2020 playoff format, the removal of the 2020-2021 preseason, and condensed game schedules. Though these modifications were made in an effort to protect players from COVID-19, they resulted in decreased training time and preparation.

Background: Injury incidence is higher in the National Football League (NFL) than in other collision sports. Although previous research has identified that scheduling variations, including overseas games and bye week timing, does not affect concussion risk, data are currently lacking regarding the effects of scheduling variation on season-long musculoskeletal injury incidence.
Purpose: To determine whether higher cumulative travel distance, overseas play, an early season bye week, and an expansion of the regular season is associated with higher injury rates in the NFL.

The purpose of this study was to use an inertial measurement unit (IMU) to analyze variations in the jump outcomes concerning weekly training days, and the dependencies between the number of jumps per minute and the jump height. An experimental research design was adopted across three weeks of the final play-off of a volleyball championship. Through an IMU, the external load of seven male elite volleyball athletes of a top rating team from Portuguese 1st Division (age: 30.
