Preventing grain from fungi and subsequent mycotoxins contamination has attracted notable attention. Present study demonstrated the limonene-formulated product Wetcit, might be a biocontrol agent and potential alternative to synthetic fungicides to control growth and deoxynivalenol (DON) production. The limonene formulation exhibited antifungal activity against with the EC at 1.40 μl/ml, electron microscopy and staining analysis showed limonene formulation could significantly decrease the quantity, length and septa of conidia, caused hyphal break and shrink, damaged the structures of cell membrane, cell wall, vacuoles and organelles in the hypha. Further study revealed the antifungal and antitoxic mechanism of limonene formulation against , limonene formulation significantly inhibited the toxisome and DON formation, was associated with the down-regulation of trichothecenes biosynthesis genes expression and many energy metabolism pathways as well as the inhibition of lipid droplets, the disturbed energy homeostasis and intracellular structures might ultimately inhibit fungal growth and DON production. In addition, limonene formulation enhanced the antifungal activity of triazole fungicides tebuconazole and mefentrifluconazole against , indicated limonene formulation has valuable potential as a bio-alternative fungicide and eco-friendly compound preparation for the effective management of and DON contamination in agriculture.

The instability of many volatile organic compounds (VOCs) limits their usage in different fragrance carriers and products. In scratch-and-sniff applications, VOCs are bound so strongly that release cannot happen without an external trigger. On the other hand, other fixatives like cyclodextrins release unstable volatile molecules too rapidly.

In this study, we investigate the effect of varying the loading of molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles (MIP-NPs) on the morphology and sensing performance of electrospun nanofibres for the selective detection of linalool, a representative plant-emitted monoterpene. The proposed strategy combines two synergistic technologies: molecular imprinting, to introduce chemical selectivity, and electrospinning, to generate high-surface-area nanofibrous sensing layers with tuneable architecture. Linalool-imprinted MIP-NPs were synthesized via precipitation polymerization using methacrylic acid (MAA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA), yielding spherical particles with an average diameter of ~135 nm.

The utility of bicontinuous microemulsions (BMEs) as carriers of the antimicrobial peptide (AMP) gramicidin D and antiseptic chlorhexidine was investigated for possible topical delivery to chronic wounds. The two water-insoluble solutes dissolved in pre-formed one-phase BMEs of Water/ Polysorbate 80/ Limonene/ Ethanol/ Glycerol and Water/ Aerosol-OT (AOT)/ Polysorbate 85/ Isopropyl Myristate and an AOT/ Polysorbate 85 Winsor-III system, achieving gramicidin and chlorhexidine concentrations of 1.0 (wt)% and 0.

This investigation undertook a comprehensive exploration of the essential oil (EO) derived from Tetraclinis articulata leaves, harvested in Blida (Algeria). It was structured in three phases: (i) profiling the phytochemical composition of the EO, (ii) developing and characterizing a novel nanoemulsion-based delivery system, and (iii) evaluating, for the first time, its antibacterial efficacy. Analytical characterization using GC-MS and GC-FID revealed the predominance of α-pinene (32.
