Glycocins are a growing family of ribosomally synthesized and posttranslationally modified peptides (RiPPs) that are O- and/or S-glycosylated. Using a sequence similarity network of putative glycosyltransferases, the thg biosynthetic gene cluster was identified in the genome of Thermoanaerobacterium thermosaccharolyticum. Heterologous expression in Escherichia coli showed that the glycosyltransferase (ThgS) encoded in the biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) adds N-acetyl-glucosamine (GlcNAc) to Ser and Cys residues of ThgA.

Ynones are attractive molecular building blocks owing to their electrophilic character, which can be exploited in a variety of functionalization strategies, giving rise to valuable reaction products. This work presents a photochemical strategy for the direct generation of ynones from aldehydes and substituted alkynes bearing radicofugal groups, such as sulfones. Using TBADT (tetrabutylammonium decatungstate) as a photocatalyst, the direct photochemical synthesis of a variety of ynones is achieved in high yields and short reaction times.

Simultaneously enhancing the crop yield and reducing nitrous oxide (NO) emissions presents a critical challenge in sustainable agriculture. The application of nitrogen (N) fertilizer is a key strategy to enhance crop yield. However, conventional N application practices often lead to excessive soil N accumulation, insufficient crop N uptake and elevated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

We report the performance of solid-state ceramic supercapacitors (SSCs) based on a novel composite electrolyte comprising aluminum-doped lithium lanthanum titanate perovskite, LiLaTiAlO (Al-doped LLTO), and the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIM BF). Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction data confirms the preservation of the tetragonal perovskite phase after Al substitution, indicating structural stability of the host lattice. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy further corroborate the successful incorporation of Al without forming secondary phases.

Photo-Fenton oxidation, as a promising wastewater treatment technology, suffers from double barriers: the sluggish Fenton catalytic rate of transition metal ions and inefficient visible light absorption, both of which severely constrain the performance enhancement of catalytic systems. Therefore, accelerating electron transfer processes and broadening optical absorption spectra have become critical scientific challenges for practical implementation. Herein, a composite catalyst system based on Au-Ag-Cu trimetallic species codoped on hydroxyapatite (HAp) was reported via an ion/ligand impregnation method.
