Article Abstract

The aim of the present investigation is to evaluate the influence of the powder size of CrC-25NiCr spraying powder on the fatigue behavior of HVOF-sprayed coating on the ASTM A516 steel substrate. Conventional commercial CrC-25NiCr spraying powder was previously treated through high-energy milling. The crystallite sizes of milled powders were measured by X-ray diffraction and transmission electronic microscopy. Three different powder formats of the same CrC-25NiCr composite were subjected to HVOF spraying to produce (i) a Milled-Coating (from high-energy milled spray powder), (ii) an Original-Coating (from conventional commercial spray powder), and (iii) a 50%-50% mixture of both (Milled + Original-Coating). The same spraying conditions were adopted for all the assessed cases. The sprayed coatings were investigated through the Knoop hardness test and SEM-EDS analysis. In addition, 3-point bending fatigue tests were conducted at different stress levels up to 10 cycles. The coating morphology and roughness effects on fatigue behavior were analyzed. The CrC-25NiCr milled coating presented a lower fatigue life above the fatigue limit and a higher fatigue limit than other coatings; this outcome could be attributed to its lower surface roughness and finer grain size microstructure.

Inhaled and intranasal corticosteroids are widely used in the management of allergic respiratory diseases. Delayed drug hypersensitivity reactions to budesonide are a rare adverse drug reaction characterized by non-immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated clinical manifestations, including localized or systemic contact dermatitis, mucosal edema, and paradoxical worsening of pre-existing symptoms. However, such reactions are often underdiagnosed due to atypical presentations.

China's aluminum-products industry, a large-scale consumer of industrial paints, is a potentially significant source of full-volatility organic compounds (F-VOCs). However, the emission characteristics of F-VOCs, including VOCs, intermediate-, semi-, and low-volatility organic compounds (I/S/LVOCs), and their role in ozone formation potentials (OFP), and secondary organic aerosol formation potentials (SOAP) remain unclear. In this study, we collected in-field samples from three industrial paints (solvent-based, water-based and powder paints) at spraying and drying processes, and treatment devices to analyze the emission characteristics of F-VOCs, OFP, SOAP.

Spray drying offers high-quality camel milk powder with a good nutritional and techno-functional profile. However, the thermal stress can cause whey protein denaturation, reducing the effectiveness of the bioactive components of the milk and compromising its health benefits. Camel milk caseins are more sensitive to heat, while its whey proteins exhibit greater resistance compared to those in bovine milk.
