The aim of this study was to compare postoperative complications and long-term clinical efficacy of electrospun composite biomaterial and porcine small intestine submucosa (SIS) patch in open inguinal herniorrhaphy. A prospective, randomized, single-blind, controlled, multicenter study was used to select 172 patients with inguinal hernia who met the inclusion criteria in 3 hospitals. All participants were randomly assigned (1:1) and treated by open inguinal herniorrhaphy.

Herein, we report a surgical case of enterocutaneous fistula occurring 18 years after incisional hernia repair using the plug-and-patch technique.

Introduction And Significance: Lichen planus pigmentosus inversus (LPPI), a rare variant primarily affecting non-sun-exposed areas in Caucasians, is resistant to standard treatments. This case highlights its clinical challenges and persistence.
Case Presentation: A 45-year-old woman with a decade-long history of light to dark brown macules and patches, initially in the axillary and inguinal regions, experienced progressive spread to her forearms, upper arms, and inframammary areas.
